BelowAverageAndroid, 10 Mar 2019Yup. I expected this. We aren't in the future yet. Also, a hole-less phones just makes no sens... moreProbably as fast as losing the battery, the SD slot, the jack, the no-notch no-frills no-bullshtick 16:9 sanity, the physical SIM (wink @ ya Huawei), and maybe sth else in the near future...
IMO it would be a nice concept, because why choose half-a$... baked Chinese-style (Xiaomi Oppo many others wink wink, Apple Sony etc. aren't far off) compromises when you can go all in? After all, side squeezing has been around for quite long (Mi4c from 2015 definitely had side squeezing), wireless charging was around >5 years before The Rotten Fruit(tm) "innovated" it, you could probably implement a protocol to pair the wireless plate inside the phone with a magnetic dongle of any kind (even without pins!), etc. And the need for a notchy, slider or UFO selfie camera could easily be cured with a second screen like one on the Pro 7 (Plus). Same goes for the speaker. If anything, the absolute future with zero top and bottom chins could be made possible even with a classic, just rounded at the corners, 16:9 display. For absolute "no-hole" water proof, they could put a wireless earbud or a tiny wireless speaker with a shirt/jumper/jacket clip inside the retail box, or make the phone spew out rainbows and vibrate like an earthquake (Nokia 3310 wink wink wink) when a notification arrives xD
Pardon me for the rant, sir/madam :)
Yup. I expected this. We aren't in the future yet. Also, a hole-less phones just makes no sense at all. I mean, I can sacrifice an SD card slot or a jack, but no holes? Not even buttons? How do you expect people to change that fast? Also, that pricing is just impractical. Get a freaking Gaming Laptop instead. You could do that. Why waste money on something like this?
Luxor, 07 Mar 2019That is not how IP rating works buddy. Yup, at least Meizu should make this crap IP69K-compliant, or MIL-STD-810H-certified.
That way, this crap would be accepted in niche market where Panasonic Toughbook/Toughpad resides for a long time.
Fayth, 06 Mar 2019with no hole, they should've managed IP90 instead of only IP68That is not how IP rating works buddy.
Jay, 06 Mar 2019So Maizu flat out admits they have abused and misused the platform meant for helping individua... moreNo they just try to hide their shame if goal was met I'm 100%sure they will sell it but since it fail so hard they try to cover it up with BS
Swapy, 06 Mar 2019I dont under where this is coming from !! You dont have to cry over what other people are doin... moreGuess not that small... At least you saw me.... And bet that you are using CrApple! As I saw around here I am not the only one with this opinion. Peace!
So Maizu flat out admits they have abused and misused the platform meant for helping individuals and small companies to kickstart their products? "Hey, thanks for supporting our marketing stunt with your money! Enjoy your half-assed product we may not even deliver and definitely won't update!"
Classy move, Meizu! Way to go!
I don't get the idea of this phone. If it had magnetic port for charging and PC connectivity it might be more applicable. And at that price point without offering something exceptional it was really nonsense. In the design aspect it is uglier than currently available Meizu devices, so this is fair public judgment.
Fayth, 06 Mar 2019If Apple implemented this ... we know what happen to the rest of the world
(irreplaceable bat... moreWell i would be only glad.
I dont like jack anyway and for the batteries i dont care whether i replace it by my self or visit a service centre.
Dude, 06 Mar 2019Hahaha, Meizu sucks anyway. Just go bankrupt already with your horrible support, shoddy build ... moreMan maybe you should move from island deep in somewhere of the pacifics ocean to a populated country where meizu have a huge fan base and works pretty well.
GrU, 06 Mar 2019If CrApple would implement this in next gadget... All the sheeps will agree as best innovation... moreIf Apple implemented this ... we know what happen to the rest of the world
(irreplaceable battery... headphone jack...)
What is the point of contributing to something that won't get updates? They don't even update their current flagship.
So 29 out of hundreds of millions of potential customers supported this scheme, that admittedly was nothing but a marketing trick for the worst, most uninnovative idea for a smartphone in ages anyway.
Meizu respect/value = 0
