AnonD-804996, 11 Mar 2019Which means most phones in use today won't even get Pie, let alone Q-something... The neverend... morePeople who think and talk like you give me status migrainosus. You fail to realize that the so called OS updates that Google puts out are still years behind what already is on devices from Samsung, and many other OEM's and definitely much more advanced than what you get on the latest iOS iteration.
The illusion of a real update with each incremental OS iteration Google puts out is just... an illusion and using stock Android is a massive downgrade from OEM skins like Samsung One UI and others so what exactly do you want them to upgrade (actually downgrade) to in a hurry?
AnonD-804996, 11 Mar 2019Which means most phones in use today won't even get Pie, let alone Q-something... The neverend... moreWell, my Mate 9 from 2016 is just getting Pie. Not the fastest update schedule, but I'm okay with it.
Typical, "Let's put some new icons on and make something a different shade of grey and we'll call it an update"

AnonD-804996, 11 Mar 2019Which means most phones in use today won't even get Pie, let alone Q-something... The neverend... moreGee dude. Most people I know that have the P2 are running Pie. Would that be a little Apple Hate coming thru?
Android Quinine?

You cant turn a 4G phone into 5G by software. It is hardware matter.
rolandudv, 11 Mar 2019Android Q new/improved features at glance:
-Dark Mode
-Revised Gesture navigation with Back ... moreDark mode thinking of oled power savings is stupid idea.
1) most used app is Chrome. 99,999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of websites are white background which makes oled spend more power than LCD. Most of the time users are using apps.
2) icons are very colourful, with black background the contrast is higher compare to white one. It increases chances of burn in.
I hope they remove the silly iOS gestures.
I doubt they would be here if iphone X did not have them.
They seriously need to revamp the awful pill gestures. Copy miui or fluid nav gestures if they have to. Do something.

Android Q new/improved features at glance:
-Dark Mode
-Revised Gesture navigation with Back button removed
-System Animations are supposedly much smoother
-Battery optimisation
-5G compatibility
-Foldable device compatibility (This is my assumption, since Google revealed strong collaboration w/Sammy)
-Perhaps Treble improvements? I hope so!
Recent news say that the first Beta might land today, although I find it a bit too early just yet.
My Oneplus 5T came with Nougat, Got an Ota for Oreo and for 3 months now i'm on Android Pie.
And it's expected to have an Ota for Android Q too. Amazing... 4 Major Android version for a single device.
AnonD-804996, 11 Mar 2019Which means most phones in use today won't even get Pie, let alone Q-something... The neverend... more"Unless you buy a Pixel phone, which are a broken buggy mess" My Pixel 2 is doing fine thank you very much. :)
"iPhones on the other hand, devices from 2013 got the latest iOS 12 few months ago. 2013 phones!" Yeah and have you ever owned an iOS device? I have. They start lagging after like 2 major updates. Fact. So what's the point of these 2013 devices getting iOS 12?
AnonD-804996, 11 Mar 2019Which means most phones in use today won't even get Pie, let alone Q-something... The neverend... moreNokia are also the option .
Which means most phones in use today won't even get Pie, let alone Q-something... The neverending curse of Android phones... One of major reasons I've gone with iOS. And Google being absolute crap in regards of privacy...
Unless you buy a Pixel phone, which are a broken buggy mess, you're lucky if you get 2 years of updates from it. Which is just BS and reason why Android versions are so absurdly fragmented. iPhones on the other hand, devices from 2013 got the latest iOS 12 few months ago. 2013 phones!
Anonymous, 11 Mar 2019Why not use Pixel 3? That should be the standard now.Good question.
