mrkartofel1, 01 Jan 2012Bada is already in Poland (central Europe). The updates started today morning.True. Some Polish owners have it. It's definitely bada 2.0 for s8500 and I'm not sure when bada 2.0 for other bada mobiles should be available but it's a huge step.

Complain like the the original SGS users. The XDA developers crowd raised a stink when Sammy said ICS was not possible because of TouchWiz. Sammy backtracked and are now considering bringing it to the SGS because of the backlash.

It's now over a year late since Samsung themselves said they would upgrade. We can only assume it was a deliberate ploy to stop people throwing their phones out (yes, bada 1 is that bad). I gave up and just bought an iPhone. Never going back to Samsung.

we knew this will happen cause it's Samsung! they don't roll out the update so soon for the older devices. at this moment they won't cause they r too busy with their galaxy line-up sp Galaxy S3! if they r so serious in Galaxy they why the hell they bring out Wave with their own OS? if they stop giving much time behind Galaxy series & think about their own OS only then they can roll out the updates in time..

@Tik Tok.. yes S8500 will be update to bada 2.0.1. but no one know when..

Samsung almost made bada users frustrated for more than 10 times. Since showing angry birds on bada 1.2 and not releasing it till now. This is not a big surprise, Samsung has a much more beneficial series to support.
Can`t believe was waiting for bada 2 (and bada support in general) more than 3 month. and now more than that?!

Had the Wave 8500. It was a very well made handset and Bada was smooth and good to use. The choice of Apps let it down and with no Skype or Whatsapp it was Wave "goodbye". Hope Bada 2.0 will allow for better Apps to be intergrated in to the phone, it deserves it.

Installed the beta version of Bada 2.0 instead of waiting for the final version. Actually bada 2 is a pretty good OS, something that we S8500 users should have get at the beginning of the lunch of the Wave series and which was only advertised by Samsung at that time and never delivered.....features like social hub, chat on, etc...

Got my Wave S8500 about a year ago when my flatmate got an Atrix and gave it to me.. I must say that since then I have been extremely pleased by this device wich is, particularly hardware wise, fabulous.

Althought, now seeing how poorly Samsung treat it's user base, I really doubt I would myself buy a Samsung device as my next phone, no matter how appealing it might be.

What a shock from a company with such a high reputation for its customer and software support.

More info is available form Galaxy S and Tab users with their magic experience with ICS update.

If anyone from Samsung is reading this, I am being SARCASTIC.

Anyone actually surprised by this news? Don’t think so.
I’m an early S8500 (Wave 1) purchaser. Brilliant hardware, unmatched telephony, excellent design.
The BADA OS 1.x is very stable but already stale. KIES is a horrible update software, in terms of vision (can’t even import SMS!) and reliability. And in so many ways Sammy isn’t particularly good at managing the whole OS update scene for BADA. Example: KIES is still not offering me an official firmware update beyond version 1.0! (that’s one point ZERO). I guess I’m in the wrong country…
If only we could combine the vision of Apple (in terms of Public Relations and customer care) with Samsung products.

/ Oscillo.
