I see, i ve had XA1 Plus but sadly I lost it, it wasnt speedy at all, previously had redmi note 4 and its sd625 ir more fluid but in other aspects xperia did better job, audio camera especially in manual mode is what filled my needs. But mediatek is not for custom devwloping.. I hope Dominika got rooted and did aome pretty good stuff with snapdragon processor of flagship xperia ;)

Ferdz was able to take some good shots using the old zenfone 3 Max!
Sometimes it's not the phone, it's the person behind it.
The question is, how much did she get paid?
The hurt in the last paragraph is real. Also some comments. Relax people, Xperia is good for those who know what they are doing. Anyone who calls themselves photographer won't rely on auto.
The person who calls nikon Canon better, I recommend you watch Tony and Chelsea's yt where he made a blind test about color science and Sony was better.
Whackcar, 15 Mar 2019Sony makes great cameras & great phones individually, but their phones are not that great ... moreEven real photographers know that Nikons and Canons are better than Sony's because they're simpler to use and the lenses are less overpriced. But I digress.
Most probably she would have rooted her Sony Xperia to avoid Sony's poor post-processing software.
Sonys are amazing in skillful hands but I think there is some lying in the text. Tripod, low iso and... long exposure? Not possible as the shutter's max exposure is 1 sec. That's the bummer in every one of those devices. The other thing is you can't choose WB in kelvins, nor you can interact with the algorithm's settings about sharpness and noise reduction. But it's true that Sonys have the best color rendition and detail level when printed on paper.
galaxyS7, 15 Mar 2019Or with a Samsung S10 plus....The S10 Plus is still very underpowered compared to any current full frame camera, the sensor alone can register way more data than any smartphone tiny sensor and not counting the vast quantity and quality of lens in the market.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2019sure it looks good. But it would be better if sony phone are like what mirrorless cameras woul... moreNo. In actual, it's same or even better than Google, Huawei or any other smartphone with a manual mode. Any flagship today with manual mode are good enough to take those breath-taking shots. The manual mode is where artistry is being done - it's when you have full control of the image and its quality. That's why I'm excited with the upcoming Nokia Pureview($600) bcos of its raw manual capabilities in shooting and in editing as well. I also praise the Xiaomi Mi 9, being a flagship killer ($450), for putting 3 necessary cameras of different lenses (wide, ultra wide & tele) in a budget device. Sure, those cameras are not the best in full auto mode. But in manual mode, the camera is only 50% of the effort, while the other half is left in the photographer/artist's editing on how he wants to portray the final picture.
True photography enthusiasts NEVER use automodes, there is no control over a desired end result in automode.
Some scenarios require low ISO, some high, some faster shutter, some slower, etc
Automodes provide fake photo results as intended by OEMs, to share on social media.
Just like using Instgram on any phone.
Thats why automode computational photography is popular on phones, for a common Joe.
You want a Pixel automode filter effect on any phone, just install Instagrm.
The photographer chose Sony phones because they produce the closest to real life images, from colors to detail.
Others can brag about RAW capturing, which is good to achieve what the camera sensor really captured, but oftentimes they are inaccurate in color reproduction, and while they do contain more information, it is quite difficult to adjust the white balance similarly to the actual colors of the captured scene, making Xperia phones the most favorable in this aspect.
If there's one thing that Sony Xperia cameras are really good at, it's the matter of capturing accurate colors. Lively enough, but not over the top.
AnonD-558092, 15 Mar 2019Those comments are dumb. If you use Pro Mode, then it's not the phone that makes the job. It'... moreYou're leaving out the lense... Sony typically have a wider lense than other manufacturers I think, don't quote me on that as I'm not a sony user.
Sony makes great cameras & great phones individually, but their phones are not that great for photography. The hardware is great, but their software processing leaves a lot to be desired.
Now use Nokia 9 pureview and get the real life color and beauty

Because mirrorle... moreActually, most photographers with mirrorless or DSLR cameras DOES NOT use manual mod regularly. They mostly use Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority modes, or Program Mode. Manual Mode is mostly used only occasionally, for hard light conditions.

Wow she won the Mobile photography award. The title make it seem like she beat some photographers using DSLR. Here photos are good considering they were captured on a phone but that much editing on landscape photography is kinda meh.
