are those two roms official ?
after looking these screenshots and previous touchwiz I learned one thing frm samsung that "how boaring can u make ur android handset "
Currently using the codeworkx CM9 alpha, works well, few bugs here and there but very usable.
This must be the most ugly UI ever.
I , as always , will put a custom Rom.
go sgs2 :) good news this is!!
D79_, 03 Jan 2012Can someone explain what ics does that gingerbread dont? earth calling... you may land!!!
See the video, if you can´t see any differences you don´t need to read/comment news about innovation.
better dont try this release (i tried 4.0.3). I decided to downgrade after several freezing incidents. Its bloody buggy.
Mmm i miss the roboto ui they mentioned i can see samsung kept the dialpad i miss the blue one
Guys, you are all missing one impotant thing: there's no mention of the GPU rendering of the screen. Wasn't ICS supposed to have that feature? There's no mention of it anywhere, not even in the galaxy nexus. This feature was supposedly going to utilize the true power of the dual core, but there's no word of it.
kornetbeef, 03 Jan 2012I own the original samsung galaxy s and i sad that my phone will not get ics. Plz samsung give... moreWhy do you have to wait? Get over to XDA Forums and try teamhacksung's or onecosmic's rom.
Can someone explain what ics does that gingerbread dont?

Anonymous, 03 Jan 2012after tve treatment tvey gave for their last year's flagships: galaxy S and galaxy tab, i beli... morehey listen i had the xperia x10 and that didnt get updated to 2.1 until late december of last year this time 2.2 was already on the galaxy s and 2.3 was out then it didnt get 2.3 until september this year so i wouldnt bet on SE my friend
[deleted post]touchwiz provides so much functionality that you would miss it terribly if you were to scrap it.
the shortcuts in the notification bar and full divx support just to name a couple
Anonymous, 03 Jan 2012after tve treatment tvey gave for their last year's flagships: galaxy S and galaxy tab, i beli... moreYou can't say going to one of the other brands that has hardware that is not as good, as you put it. HTC and SE have said the same thing at update time and then they had to change their minds after the negative back lash. HTC said that they wouldn't be updating the Desire to gingerbread and SE was at least a year behind in updating a couple of phones. It's frustrating that all these companies come out with the news that they're not going to update and then all the users complain and then they somehow find a way.
i'm curious about one thing, will there be swype on this rom? i'm a huge fan of that keyboard and for me rom without it is a "no go"
Anonymous, 03 Jan 2012Those who own the original Galaxy S are starting to feel the heat now. Sadly, this darling has ... moreive had my galaxy s from initial launch and have like other users received android updates from initial eclair to gingerbread, so im not getting ICS big deal im not losing out on functionality my phone isnt going to stop working, end of the day my handset is approaching legacy hardware status, It STILL WORKS , if it gets to the point it needs an update i will either flash it myself to a cusotmer rom or i will upgrade the handset.
these smartphones arent intended to last for life its not the nature of the beast, those decrying and moaning about this need to wake up and get used to it or switch to a feature phone which doesnt evolve
Anonymous, 03 Jan 2012after tve treatment tvey gave for their last year's flagships: galaxy S and galaxy tab, i beli... moreI wouldn't say that if I were you, given that I'm an owner of HTC's former flagship 'HTC Desire', which I chose over Samsung's Galaxy S based on my ugly experience with Samsung's support for their phones, and boy did I make the wrong decision..
As you can tell, the Galaxy S now has been updated all the way to Gingerbread, and rumor has it that they might give it ICS too, while my Desire is stuck on the good old Froyo with absolutely no plans for any further updates
no way samsungs ui is horrible the ics on the nexus looks so much better. Please samsung make it look like ics on the nexus please dont use any manufacturas uii makes the software look dated
I just hate the look of the touchwiz ui. The official ICS UI is the best ui for android i have ever seen. Lets hope they give an option to turn off touchwiz.
But knowing sammy they will integrate it into the OS.
There are many alternate ui's available in android market. Is it possible to release stock ics ui as an app to install over the touchwiz???
