I am getting attracted to iPhone more and more. Apple always brings the best technology available into its models. It would not bombard with 100s of models. My friend was able to upgrade to latest verion of IOS on his 3GS. Though I like Android too, Android phone manufacturers are cheaters in my eyes. Isn't it a shock that Galaxy S can not have a better Android version than Galaxy Ace?

zocc, 04 Jan 2012Oh well, nothing new, expected from Samsung telling lies. Here is the plan, going to buy Htc S... moreIt's funny that a company has the posibility to update a phone to ICS and won't do it. They won't even launch a goodie pack. Maybe the phone just wasn't made for it. Here is a small advice for the Samsung engineers. Launch an ICS update for the Galaxy S and tell the users that Samsung makes the update available but doesn't recomend installing it. And also leave a posibility for the people who did to bring their phone back from the brink of death(back to Gingerbread).

To people who say upgrade what is the big deal ?

The big deal is that there already many Android applications that do not work on Galaxy S. And broken app number for Galaxy S( and Tab) will only increase as TouchWiz on Gingerbread will not be maintained even though Galaxy S(and many other brands) were in the shops less than 12 months ago.

And Google are they belind to see the frustration among customers and app developers ? At least they should learn form Microsoft and enforce phone hardware profiles and force the manufacturers to maintain future upgrades.

I wonder how Samsung execs see the future when their most knowledgeable customers branding them as liars.

I will tell them future is not orange for Samsung but it is Apple.

Geeks sell products for Apple but geeks will take Samsung down. Never bought and recommended an apple product before but I will recomend people to stay out of Android mess.

This is why I hate Samsung. The hardware can't receive even a Value Pack, die, Samsung. Even Xperia X10 Mini Pro is receiving a port of ICS.

baldy, 04 Jan 2012As a user already said...people treat those updates like the second coming of Jesus Christ...I... moreFor you maybe 2.2 is nice For ME 2.1 isn't.

My Continuum is stucked on 2.1.1 and believeme is not nice have that one since has some tricks I don't like (that can't use my SD for install programs) and for me is essential have Froyo or Gingerbread...

The only ROM 2.2 is one leaked and is the official but has many bugs around.....

So I hope Samsung realize there will be a lots of unhappy users spitting on the "all mighty" Samsung support....

Sucks Sucks Sucks...is unbelievable even Nokia has updates for older phones with less specs and this one with 1 GHz proc still stuck on 2.1

Who cares?
Most of Galaxy S users who really care about updates they flash roms and already there are some ICS roms for Galaxy S out there the forums so thx Samsung focus on the new devices.

this is nothing but Samsung becoming greedy and neglecting MILLIONS of customers... Samsung if you have little shame left in you then at least release source code of proprietary drivers and RIL to the developers so that they can port ics properly to our beloved sgsI :)

Oh well, nothing new, expected from Samsung telling lies. Here is the plan, going to buy Htc Sensation Xe Beats Audio instead of Galaxy SII. I will use my Galaxy S1 as a secondary phone but rooted and installed an ICS 4.0.3 custom rom. Thank you Samsung for treating us as a little kids.

As a user already said...people treat those updates like the second coming of Jesus Christ...I'm still using 2.2 Froyo on mine and its perfect in every way...My friend with a Nexus S updated his phone and it has EVERYTHING that mine has..apart from some UI changes..its pointless..but people are carried away by the untruth that NEWER IS BETTER...Well keep on dreaming.

What is the big deal about these updates anyway? I barely saw the difference when I upgraded from Froyo to Gingerbread on my Samsung Galaxy S 4G. Meanwhile, Samsung folks made it sound like I was missing the second coming of Jesus Christ! I am not even worried about ICS. I'd rather have a camera with flash and a decent battery life than ICS, if you ask me...
