Android is not crap..other manufacturers are upgrading the entire lineup(ex. SE, MOTO)..... while Samsung , as always, want you to spend more money to buy another phone..
it's not about getting satisfied with what you are having. If that had been the case no smartphone would have been made except that sucking Symbian.
It's the battle of fittest and latest.
And we Galaxy S users are the losing horses of this race ! :(
Anonymous, 04 Jan 2012wahhhha, iphone is just a joke. It's an application palette. Nothing more than that.Tell that for millions pissed of samsung galaxy s users ;)

Well done Samsung!
As a end user, I'm satisfied with GB 2.3. I have updated my phone in Feb, 2011. Almost 1 year on GB. No problems so far. I don't find any reason to upgrade firmware on my phone. Does this make sense to the bashers who are not really samsung users?
AnonD-6103, 04 Jan 2012Yea right as if iOS5 actually runs creamy smooth on the 3GS ;). I beat you some are going to c... moreActually iOS5 runs better/faster than iOS4 with iPhone 3GS. Yes it's smooth as it can be with 2009 year phone. Smooth as it has been the whole time no change there after new iOS versions.
That's called very good optimization!
Stop cry babies.if you are too stupid to understand reasons then go buy dumbphones.its ok that Samsung doesnt want apple 3gs experience with ios5.lags as hell.
Due to the increased memory demands of ICS you will find many "older" phones unable to accept the update - you can't design for a future update when it isn't even though of...
All manufacturers use the minimum hardware to give max performance as they need to keep production cost low.
Anyway, what's wrong with Gingerbread - works fine and does not have the horrible new UI of ICS.
SGS, 04 Jan 2012Apparently. Haha. you can be angry, but at the same time yo cannot blame them entirely. Like y... moreWell you are actually correct. The older HTC Desire, could not get upgraded to Gingerbread siting that there was not enough space. So HTC removed Sense and now you can upgrade.
So yea HTC WILL remove Sense if its for their own reasons ;)
Personally I was never a fan of Sense anyway....
Anonymous, 04 Jan 2012just u wait and see what will happen next year :) i promise u will not get a taste of android 5 :dThen i will buy android 5.0 equipped samsung flagship phone..........
Anonymous, 04 Jan 2012I guess Apple should use this in their next ad because samsung has been bullying Apple. Ful... moreYea right as if iOS5 actually runs creamy smooth on the 3GS ;). I beat you some are going to complain about their phones being slower etc then they were with the older versions...
This is even worse than LG >.>
Its not just Samsung that does this. EVERY manifacturer of a mobilephone, sans Apple does this. If they were to provide updates for ever then noone would most likely buy their newer products.
And thats not even taking the End User Experience into effect. What now if someone has had a SGS1 with Gingerbread and thought it was super smooth and loved it, then gets upgraded to ICS and all of a sudden the phone starts to lag a bit here and there etc etc etc. Means that user has suffered a worse experience then he had before and thus for him the upgrade is worse then what he had before.....
AnonD-9625, 04 Jan 2012most of you people r thinking samsung is making a bad move by not giving updates.its true but,... moreThis is true. Most of the Android users would rather root their smartphones.
