for what is worth,its a marketing way to push people on buying new devices, dont get me wrong im an android fan but still i respect the support that apple give to their handsets regarding software update where ever you are,as for the Galaxy S for example my fiancees phone is stuck on froyo because the ginger update didnt arrive to us and we live in lebanon.
so its something expected from samsung at least.

its better to buy sony phones at least they won't abandon the customer like Samsung did.
Sony is rolling out the ICS update for all 2011 phones they released. Though it has almost same hardware as galaxy s.

NO surprised for this strategy their reason is boost their next flagshit S3.This situation will having to all manufacturer not only samsung example Apple ios 5 is no support iphone 3,sony x10 (same realese time with gs)even now they update whole 2011 xperia lineup but i think after that they will not get next major update of android jellybean.So the statement is buying a flagship phone is more percentage to get next update.

kyle, 04 Jan 2012haha, Samsung pulled a Xperia X10 trick...U are happy now can update to ics, but if next android is out (have already rumors that Jellybean) u all sgs2, sgn user will not get it. Just like this moment..hahaha
