I understand why so many people complaint about recent phones sizes... I still miss my old LG G2 mini in terms of size. But this one is not a huge one so the rambling is really out of proportion (and saddly won´t be taken seriusly by phone developers). As someone else said, this is just an old plastic design from 2014 or so. And is an Android Go phone so yes, it´s a "tiny" phone in 2019. Not the smallest one or the sleakest but as "tiny" as the S10e is considered "compact" while being the same size of a S7. Phone tendencies are not a matter of what people likes (as any other thing - gadget - stuff marketed these days) and that´s not new at all. The phone sizes in the past where a matter of cost and the technology available at the moment. And now, when phones are used more for consuming - viewing content than for texting or calling without using wired or wireless headphones with mic, anything less than 5" of screen is considered "not usable" for the developers of such content. And they are not so wrong about it when you take in consideration the hours most users spent watching their phone´s screen these days...
It should be like..
5 inch screen with 18:9 ratio.
8mp auto focus rear cam
5mp selfie
16 gb internal
2 gb ram
Snapdragon 430
Dual sim with memory card, no hybrid
Look like something from 2014. I say it would sell at $40 only. Doesn't look worth more than that.
>5 inch screen
>tiny
Does anyone remember when 4.5 inches is considered huge?
Anonymous, 27 Mar 2019"Tiny"? Is it a joke?
Even S10 is more compact (70.4 mm) than this "tiny" phone.
Dear GSMAre... moreYes! please!
This phone is everything but tiny...
Please GSMarena, keep it real. Don't just parrot what the marketing material of companies tells you. This phone is big, way to big.
Anonymous, 27 Mar 2019It's sad that 141mm height is considered "tiny" these days... I absolutely hate the 'phablet' ... moreThere is Samsung A40 and Xiaomi Mi play that are smaller then most of the phones in the market. Samsung A40 is something 144mm tall and Mi play 147mm tall.
Sadly A40 is something like SD625 power and that Mi Play isnt much better with it's mediatek p35.
For me perfect size would be the size of my very old Nokia Lumia 520. It had 4 inch screen. (119.9 x 64 x 9.9 mm). This would fit even 5 inch screen in it with a notch and chin even as it has 40% of surface bezels. They could just make it a bit thicker, add something minimum sd660 and maximum SD712 in it with 3000mAh battery and some decent camera for under 200 euro and i would be sold to it.
You call 5 inch tiny? What do u think we have sacks for pant pockets? We dont have pizza size hands. Infact 5 is the standard & ideal size for pocketable phones. Rest are just ego devices.
Better with Xiaomi Redmi Go snapdragon and 3000 battery .
How is this tiny, I'd call 5" relatively large and 5.5" massive. Currently using the Galaxy J7 Neo, 5.5" is too big, 4.3" to 4.8" is good for me. 140x70mm is similar to the S8 but a little shorter.
shortkey, 27 Mar 2019140x70 mm isn't tiny. 120x60 mm is tiny. And that's exactly how small I want my next phone to ... moreIMO 4" and under is small. 4.3-4.7" is perfect for me.
Redmi 3 pro much better phone with same body size, but bigger battery. Years ago lunched already. New phones get more bad.
It's sad that 141mm height is considered "tiny" these days... I absolutely hate the 'phablet' trend, for me anything bigger than 150mm is a paddle and it's uncomfortable to carry, uncomfortable to hold and uncomfortable to use.
And the worst thing that there're virtually no compact midrangers right now. Either it's the flagship like XZ compact or S10e (which just costs way too much) or the absolute bottom tier like this, which is mostly just making phone calls.
Maybe the A20e will be the same size as this? Anyway S10e is same size as.this one. Why on earth call tiny to a 5" phone?
140x70 mm isn't tiny. 120x60 mm is tiny. And that's exactly how small I want my next phone to be.
MAKE SMARTPHONES COMPACT AGAIN.
One thing i really love with this phone is the 16:9 ratio, rest is hmmmm... useless shi. .
Yet another low-life Cortex A53 phone. Please stop milking that crappy SoC, djeez. Do these bozo's even know that it's 2019 already?
Besides instead of this "core" crap just re-boot the Galaxy S6. That had at least a couple of Cortex A57 cpu's which are much faster than this. I'm sure SS could sell the S6 nowadays for less than 300 bucks. You'd have a pretty fast phone, great design and single great camera. Why need a gazillion crappy fucked-up camera's if you can have one (1) good one.
How is the phone tiny exactly? It's 141 by 71 mm, maybe 9-10mm shorter than most phones today, but that's it.
When you have phones shorter than 120 and slimmer than 50, then we can start talking about tiny.
Thornography, 27 Mar 2019Haha how times have changed 5 inch screens being called tiny now!Yeah... I still consider 5” a big phone....
The amount of bezel it has, it makes it a large phablet phone. To say it's tiny needs to go to eye doctor or something. 5 inch for screen size is really good for compact phone. But then it needs to have no bezels that make it 120mm tall too. Samsung A40 with close to 6 inch screen is not much bigger then this thing. Only something 145mm tall for A40
