In my opinion, the technic that P30 Pro using now is different from this one used by oppo.

The only advantage of this periscope camera is that I would no longer be needing to cover the silly selfie camera with stickers ;)
Selfies are for insecure fb sheeps!

That's a killer deal for just few mm's of thickness. Of course it still shouldn't be much thicker than 10mm, things like Energizer Power Max P18K Pop is just too much.

I have no issues if a smartphone becomes 2-5mm thicker if it helps with the optics on the Periscope camera (brighter lens larger sensor, better stabilisation etc).
But the implementation on the periscope camera still has a long way to go. Huawei has definitely taken a step in the right direction.

P30 pro is already putting the tech into practice, and to my knowledge I have never seen a Nokia phone using a periscope camera before! And if I may ask, do you really know what a periscope camera is??
P30 Pro has proven the huge potential of the tech. That 5x zoom was every bit as good in quality as traditional 2x telephoto shots. I hope more manufacturers adopt the tech in upcoming phones. Time to get rid of that 2x useless zoom.
Also, I look forward to see 10x optical zoom down the road. Would be pretty epic.
