having quad-core on your mobile device doesn't seem useful, not unless pc applications can be installed on it..

It's just a waste of time...What in the world would you need that much processing power for?? For example..Even though I have the Galaxy S 2, my Galaxy S still runs silky smooth

I simply made the assumption that most people don't know enough about threading / scheduling / programming /processor architecture etc. to actually make rational choices on core count. Do you disagree?

Apple is just iphone, so when you state that android beats iphone it doesnt, because the software is sold for free to all these companies and obviously there is much more options to introduce new cores etc. So stop the hate.

Quad core in a smartphone? Could we get more apps that actually support threading first?

Even desktops can't use 4 cores most of the time and the most power hungry apps (games) usually don't thread very well. I guess browser performance might see minor benefit. Still, I bet there are loads of better choices for the cost / chip space.

Oh well, I guess since most people don't really understand tech we will see comments full of "not quad core, that phone is useless" in about 6 months...

What do you mean by Apple's flagship!?!? they have only one phone in a year! Its rather an trend device than an smart phone.

Oh yeah! quad core. The battery standby time will be 24 hours max. The haven't even fixed the problem with the dual core 800 mhz they're using in 4S and you guys hope for a quad core to do a better job?

Iphone battery is already struggling to even power the calculator application for more than 5 minutes, so a quad-core should give the iPhone a battery life of like 23 seconds from full charge.
