Lets ask samsung ;)
Also...I think this chip could power the new IPad?? I can definitely see this chip in a tablet but not a phone!!!
having quad-core on your mobile device doesn't seem useful, not unless pc applications can be installed on it..
It's just a waste of time...What in the world would you need that much processing power for?? For example..Even though I have the Galaxy S 2, my Galaxy S still runs silky smooth
Anonymous, 06 Jan 2012Quad Core will actually save battery and not the other way round.the more core you use the more battery life you use

You think that only you... moreHow on earth did you infer that?
I simply made the assumption that most people don't know enough about threading / scheduling / programming /processor architecture etc. to actually make rational choices on core count. Do you disagree?
AnonD-36827, 06 Jan 2012Wow you guys are hiting on Android. I'm gonna make a prediction. The first phone to have a qua... moreObviously android will have a quadcore before apple due to the fact that andoird has lg, samsung, htc, motorola and who knows what else. Apple is just iphone, so when you state that android beats iphone it doesnt, because the software is sold for free to all these companies and obviously there is much more options to introduce new cores etc. So stop the hate.
Anonymous, 06 Jan 2012Honest answer it's NO point having quad core! Battery power is pointless at the moment with du... moreQuad Core will actually save battery and not the other way round.
Well seeing s this tech is now available, I'd say yes.
Will the sun come up tomorrow?
who cares
z, 06 Jan 2012i dont really see the point of 4 cores.... But developers can see the point , believe me
Sails, 06 Jan 2012Quad core in a smartphone? Could we get more apps that actually support threading first?
Ev... more"I guess since most people don't really understand tech..."
You think that only you one are smart and only you understand it...
Honest answer it's NO point having quad core! Battery power is pointless at the moment with dual core....how long will quad core last???? 5 hours!!!!
Quad core in a smartphone? Could we get more apps that actually support threading first?
Even desktops can't use 4 cores most of the time and the most power hungry apps (games) usually don't thread very well. I guess browser performance might see minor benefit. Still, I bet there are loads of better choices for the cost / chip space.
Oh well, I guess since most people don't really understand tech we will see comments full of "not quad core, that phone is useless" in about 6 months...
AnonD-1188, 06 Jan 2012I think this is for the next iPad i agree with you sir ! cheers
Dualcore with 1GB ram. Later on quadcore...
Wow you guys are hiting on Android. I'm gonna make a prediction. The first phone to have a quad core processor will run on Android. Why? Because there are still 9 months left till Iphone 5 will get released. Samsung and HTC are sure to release a phone till then
What do you mean by Apple's flagship!?!? they have only one phone in a year! Its rather an trend device than an smart phone.
Oh yeah! quad core. The battery standby time will be 24 hours max. The haven't even fixed the problem with the dual core 800 mhz they're using in 4S and you guys hope for a quad core to do a better job?
Iphone battery is already struggling to even power the calculator application for more than 5 minutes, so a quad-core should give the iPhone a battery life of like 23 seconds from full charge.
