Anonymous, 01 Apr 2019Nokia 6 = $600 Mi9 = $490It is like comparing an American muscle car to a German luxury brand. Xiaomi will win the spec war so if that is what you are into then buy a Xiaomi.
Anonymous, 01 Apr 2019HMD is a subsidiary of Foxconn.LoL Its a #AprilFoolJoke
Anonymous, 31 Mar 2019This phone is a no-no. Disappointed processing time, the pictures may be good in normal light... moreFunny, cause you sound exactly like a facebook, instagram, snapchat type and this device, is for sure, NOT for that. Would be a waste of battery and life span of this pure crazyness.
Shinigami, 31 Mar 2019This phone represents the Nokia philosophy: Keep dreamers in their dreams with a lot of promis... moreI beg to differ. You words being pointless and biased. This device is not for number diggers, and dares to have personality, something that got lost after Nokia departure from Smartphone world. This device is not for dreamers it is for people who do not buy into trend, who have a character and live by their own rules, not by market share. A device that only a Nokia corporation minded person could pull of in this market of sheeps and devices for them. Their will not be a lot of people buying this device, as fhere are not to many that have a peronal opinion, or personality. But this device is not addressed to the mass. This is the continuity of the pureview legacy. Why they did, all followed. Now, what this device does, all will follow.
Anonymous, 01 Apr 2019HMD is a subsidiary of Foxconn. If I remember right, what is a subsidiary of Foxconn in a joint venture is the feature phone business, which was sold separately by Microsoft.
Anonymous, 01 Apr 2019HMD is a subsidiary of Foxconn.Care to explain then why they put this in their frontpage?
"HMD is an independent, Finnish company"
a 2017 chip inside? that is laughable! Is Nokia on drugs? no seriously, they out their top end product with an 845? If you cant see the major wrong in that... wow.
THE-TRUTH-REVEALER, 01 Apr 2019I agree with your science, but I don't think that 1020 takes better pics than Nokia 9 Pureview... morePerhaps a version with SD855 plus Nokia's software optimizations will decrease processing times significantly? Hope so!
Ask people who had the Nokia 8 Sirocco if they're still hoping something from HMD...
yesornot, 01 Apr 2019Interesting opinion, but almost entirely consisting of fantasies, conjectures and prejudices. ... moreI agree if we were discussing for a camera, but now we're talking about a smartphone.
So yes I prefer to have less light and details but what eveyrbody is looking is to take a clean picture easily and quickly.
Why? Because normal people who spend time to have the better picture, they come with the equipment to do the better picture.
If it's for have a near of real camera quality but with all the disadvantages then no it's again a bad phone and for an old flagship 600 euros it's too expansive. A lot of 2018 devices with same components are findable for less than that and they offer maybe less sharp pictures but they didn't have to spend their time to wait for the pictures...
ZloiYuri, 01 Apr 2019Outdated processor, small battery, insane price, bad pics. Foxconn, you deserve the same as yo... moreFoxconn is just a manufacturer that makes phones to many brands, like IPhone.
Still IPhone fans are never commenting about their phones made by FoxxCon.... Funny.
HMD is designing these phones and they have done a hell a great work in a short time they made Nokia brand back to business
Nokia 9 PureView is the undisputed champion at Still and Tripod Photography but too bad this isn't catered to the fast-paced, real time picture taking millennials.
Nick Tagataka, 01 Apr 2019But the real question is: Do those 5 cameras really capture "ridiculous amount of" "photograph... moreI agree with your science, but I don't think that 1020 takes better pics than Nokia 9 Pureview. Is there a comparison already on the internet? I will look for those myself too.
And I agree, no miracle should be expected from this phone when it shoots in JPEG.
Yeah, processing time is a con for this phone. I think in case of high-intensity sports scene, users need to use the pics from a single lens only. Perhaps a version with SD855 plus Nokia's software optimizations will decrease processing times significantly? Hope so!
akw, 31 Mar 20193 B/W , vertically and 2 RGB horizontallyOh Yes, my bad. Apologies.
Samath N8 808 owner, 01 Apr 2019I'm aware about sensor size limitations. I'm also aware of monochrome capturing upto 3 times ... moreThis phone has ToF ( black hole) to blur the background while the 5 capture the person.
Fintoyu, 01 Apr 2019Nokia 9 is at the same price with Xiaomi Mi9 !! Dare to compare !!!Nokia 6 = $600
Mi9 = $490
NoM, 01 Apr 20191. Design: we can not debate about it you may like it or not, i am not into bezel-less phones... moreSingle SIM comes with 256 GB, 8 GB RAM; dual SIM can comes with 128 GB 6 GB RAM but support micro SD up to 512 GB using SIM 2 slot
Shinigami, 01 Apr 2019Again one guy who never had any Nokia HMD phones, who just played a little bit in a shop or th... moreInteresting opinion, but almost entirely consisting of fantasies, conjectures and prejudices. Nokia phones are perfectly made and work nice.
If we talk about Nokia 9 it is necessary to remind that revolutionary technologies do not always work perfectly from the first second. While Nokia 9 cameras as well as the human brain, do not use half of the features and need updates.
But even now, if you look at the first comparison Nokia 9 is far superior to Samsung S10+ and iPhone XS MAX in daylight.
If we talk about raw it's just another league. Nokia's colors are natural, the details are pixel precise, and the dynamic range is extremely wide.
ZloiYuri, 01 Apr 2019Outdated processor, small battery, insane price, bad pics. Foxconn, you deserve the same as yo... moreIf Foxconn goes away from the buziness it's doing with HMD, then there will be no Xbox, no playstation, no iPhone, well, at least 1/3 less electronic device since Foxconn only manufacture what brands ask them to. They did not design anything and had Nothing to do with the small battery, the proc used, or anything related to this phone.
If you think that's poor choices here, it's not due to the taiwanese company, it's only due to the finnish people that choosed to do things like this. Yep, HMD, aka, former Nokia phone part.
Foxconn is really good at doing what we, westerner, ask them to do: bullying under aged chineses to do cheap stuff for us :)
