Guys, trust me, the Update is well worth it. New lockscreen is NICE and as of now ie 6 hours since the update battery is brilliant too. Touch wood, no Android System shootups yet.

Sensuret, 07 Jan 2012FACT: Samsung is the best at updating their phones. Galaxy S went from 2.1 to 2.2 to 2.3.6, wh... moreactually it's not just like the 3GS getting iOS 5 update as the 3GS is a 2009 phone not a 2010 phone.
The Samsung Galaxy S was released around the same timeframe as the iPhone 4 so should be getting ICS as a matter of course if Samsung are the so called factual best at updating their phones. Don't you think?
In fact, having owned several Samsung phones in the past I can say, from experience, Samsung are down there with HTC as amongst the worse at updating their phones.

I think that it's fantastic that a manufacturer takes care of it's customers. Samsung have been the best manufacturer for years only now has it become obvious. They bring new technologies to the forefront of the gadget world. They certainly know how to create a device that works.
I see people all of the time talking about rooting their phones. Why do they need to? The manufacturers have worked hard to give you a device that works well with the hardware they have carefully chosen to put into the case. Buy an iPhone and jailbreak it if you feel that way about making your phone do what you want.
Accept what you are given, you choose your device now live with it. Move on and love it. End of.
