I "love" how people are so secretive about these kind of stuff. Yes, they could use your gps data, but yes, maybe they can't check your behavior (yes, some people will never sit down on bus etc).
This is some ways for your convenience, so you know when is a train/bus crowded and when it isn't. Take for example when there is more ways to get to a specific location and you can choose which is the route where you won't have one person having his/her backpack in your face and the other sticking his/her phone in your back..
Some people should just stop being so scared to share data, no one cares about your location unless you are a criminal...

Anonymous, 17 Apr 2019Will Adaway block this? Is it an ad? No. So, no, AdAway won't block this. Duh.
I'm wondering why Google need user input to know how crowded the train is.. i guess that such thing is easy to know using the gps data since Google already know every user posation in any specific moment. so by determining the density of passengers in the train using gps google can know how crowded is the train
"This is the first time it reportedly appeared on Android, while iOS users have been seeing the notification for several months."
Goes to show how much Google loves their Android platform indeed!!
Wasn't this ages ago? travelling on the train here last year I was asked this, consistently.
I wish it should be in Indian trains that too in general compartments.
who do help with that? You support the mega company, earning more money and what do you get? You get a "like" similar to FB, wow feel happy by that? Dont tell the truth to them I think is a better way, supporting free open software like Firefox/Mozilla would be better in my opinion?
