I wish a real Iphone SE2 with touch ID, jack, hope same or smaller size than actual Iphone SE, double-Sim, maybe SD-card, 1 week battery life.
Please don't take form factor Iphone 8 ,7, 6, XR, X or XS
Yes, would be great if SE came back. Not as a budget phone, but as a smaller, handy, high-end device.
The ideal phone would be the old SE body, with smaller bezels. Maybe some day in the future...
An iPhone 8s could really save the day for Apple. It's about time Apple realized that not everyone wants to pay more than £259 for an iPhone. The smaller 4" SE was available for £199 and the 6s is still available for £259, so £259 for the 8s would be a great deal even in 3 or 4 years time.
Anonymous, 19 Apr 2019basic LCD and low resolution , and small ish battery. I wonder why people always hail SE/Compa... moreThe one thing Sony nerfed in XZ2 Compact was the useless vibration engine, everything else with on par with the oversized model or even better.
The successor of the Iphone SE is long awaited. However, just use the original shell of the SE as it is such a big hit and aesthetically pleasing. The original shell with upgraded internals with max size of 5-inch. This phone would definitely give everyone the much craved successor to the SE and boost the sales of the company.
Hope this is true. If Apple keeps on making pocket phones others might as well.
We'll see. Putting new innards in a past body in March is not unheard of so an "iPhone 9" seems likely. An option of a more extensive redesign to create a 4,7 inch "SE2" sounds interesting, too. How it will all fit along the rumours of a 5,44 inch iPhone in autumn 2020 remains to be seen - people might be curious about that so the March reception (especially in the case of "iPhone 8 boost") might be lukewarm until the main lineup will get revealed.
basic LCD and low resolution , and small ish battery. I wonder why people always hail SE/Compact phones, knowing that they nerfed so much and price still high.
Finally some good news. Was almost out of options for a compact phone. Would be interesting if they add some colour options to it. I would even fancy a plastic shell, 5c style.
Anonymous, 18 Apr 2019because it's difficult to put high-end tech into a small phone. Why do you think all the smart... moreSony did it last year. There's some hope that they will make something great this year too... some hope, not much.
Makes way more sense than last year rumors, here’s why:
The 5s was released on 2013, and almost three years later after its release, on 2016 the SE is released with the same design language as the former. Now, the iPhone 8 was released on 2017 and according to this article a new SE (?) will be released next year with the same design language as the 8, almost three years after the release of the latter.
And abt the price I don’t think that’s the best choice, bcs by that time the Xr will already be around that price so...
Kriegsherr, 18 Apr 2019do you speak for everyone? don't think so. Not everyone is big fan of big screens. with top of... moreSony have had compacts that were always top of the line hardware and premium high price.
There have never been compact that is middle class hardware with low price. Even middle class hardware these so called compacts today are too expensive. There is nothing under 250 euro. Only thing that is coming close to something is Samsung Galaxy A40 with 230 euro price tag that have decent specs and amoled screen. After that everything is either with useless low end specs with higher then premium price or just only flagship hardware with insane over priced price on them that was Sony compact.
There is a need of 100-250 range price for decent camera and decent specs that isnt taller then 135mm. there is nothing like that in the market. And for that cant say everyone want a big screen. If market is full of only 6-7 inch screen and compact is considered already at 5.7-5.9 inch screens then sorry to say but of curse all think that everyone want a large screen phone when these is pretty much 0 options for smaller screens
Don't be mislead by the 4.7 inches, this wont be an old style iPhone. It will be SE sized, but XR style. According to my calculations, a 640 x 1386 LCD at 326ppi (same width and pixel density as the SE) will be 4.68 inches in size (Apple always rounds up or down to the nearest 0.1 inches).
Finally! I'm stuck with my iPhone 6 for only one more year, it seems. Seriously, why is it so hard for premium brands to create competitive sub-5 inch phones?
Why so much big bezels?. Edge to edge screen with 5-5.5" phone is good.
Anonymous, 18 Apr 2019Why on earth does apple think $650 for a 4.7 inch LCD display iPhone is Justifiable????? do you speak for everyone? don't think so. Not everyone is big fan of big screens. with top of the line specs a 4.7 inch phone should be hit. I would be one of the buyers for sure if the battery is good unlike iphones.
