afterall, you don't need other people's approval to be who you really are.
Imagine if youtube hides how many videos are playing, maybe I won't see a news site that preaches a Korean music video breaking records
Anonymous, 19 Apr 2019Well. I like the idea of liking on posts. It will be boring to just scrolling tru lolwell you can still like photos you see, you just cant see how many others have liked the image..... so it wont make a difference really
I can already hear the shrieks of those 'instagram influencers'.

"Influencers" - fancy term for narcissists who live off getting likes and comments on their videos and posts, as well as think they're entitled to free things and services for their supposed popularity when they in reality they aren't.
It shouldn't be invisible/removed, as that can be used as a form of propaganda.
They should simply be hiding behind a button. So that its a small nuisance, that people must click and see the Likes count.
Otherwise, its like YouTube videos where they remove comments or completely block it, then go as far as hide the Like/Dislike bar. Or like when Netflix removed the rating system, which by the way was working tremendously well as a Social Grading system... however was killed by the big corporations/movie industry as transparency isn't a good business model for them but exaggerated bias marketing is.
