we protest dont kill bada please...am a bada2 user(wave3) itz amazing and powerfull i am sure it can beat android...think once again!!
What diffrent hardware? It's all ARM. If we can install Android port on Wave, it can be upgraded to Tizen. Look at Nokia N9. It uses the same ARM architecture and has MeeGo onboard.
Nokia dropping Meego is only going to come back and bite it in the ass. Ballmer and Elop will only send Nokia to its grave. Nokia needs to get back into the Meego/Tizen project before it is too late.
all platform origin from linux....why dont u makers develop linux and evolve one pure linux phone...wat motorola had years back..ming series.
Ehhhh Samsung, who do you think is gonna trust you and buy Tizen OS phones, after what you have done with bada OS.
Personaly I would't even get close to Tizen (personal experience as a S8500 Wave owner).
wth samsungs thinking, please dont replace the bada os, the stupid weak wp7 shud be replaced. wp7 is boring...
this combine os will be linux based with a wide support of hardware so even if samsung doesnt officially update the current waves we will get a port anyway.
The only thing about nokia i liked was the N900 and they ditched it,the os was very powerful and had a great future.Good to see MeeGo back.
tizen is meego's successor
[deleted post]Oh, the Nokia Omnia HD.
Time for Samsung to return the favour by catering to N9 refugees. :)
Samsung should REPLACE Android with Tizen thats for Good.
Also Blackberry should Kill QNX[BBX] and use WebOS to be awesome.
BADA died when Samsung ignored our demands for VIOP and better support.
Samsung have consequently lost two hardware sales from me as a result and likely plenty more from equally disgusted, once loyal customers!
In addition, if Samsung's support for this new hybrid is as bad as it was for BADA, then it will fail miserably too.
It still can't even get Kies to run properly! One of the worst integration packages I have ever seen. So, good luck with the firmware updates....if they ever come!
Once bitten, twice shy....
Anonymous, 15 Jan 2012Dude, the name should be BaZen.. BaZenGa! epic comment is epic!
Stick to apple.iphone&iOS: perfect marriage, lifetime commitment..:-*
Sounds downright ridiculous. Majority of 2 year-old Wave phones have not seen any major update yet and Samsung is thinking of yet another OS?
Good start Samsung, for starting this consolidation.
Our phones currently run anything from iOS, WP7, Android, BlackBerryOS, Bada, Tizen, Symbian, S40, Meego, Maemo....
..and each platform with its own h/w requirements, its getting out of hand!
Hopefully 2012 will see more unification of Mobile OSes.
fail.
after all of the delays getting a final release of bada 2.0 out, does samsung really think this will be a solution?
let's face it - samsung does not have the will to stick to bada, regardless of the number of sales of the wave I and II handsets and all of the support and loyalty of consumers who purchased those handsets.
they do not care about the os - the no show of bada 2.0 despite all the talk and promises proves that. the profit is in the hardware sales and jumping on board the open source train of an largely new project such as tizen won't change that.
so long samsung - you've lost me as a supporter. your greed and short sightedness will lose you a heap more customers too.
Bada-bye! :)
Bada right now runs on an RTOS and it would be interesting to know why would they want to port all that to Linux. I could be because of the wider hardware support available for Linux.
Samsung should stop such cheap OS's instead pay attention to Android and windows phone.
as it's already quite obvious, I'll be waiting for Tizen BUUTTT I REAALLLYYY don't want it to look similar to Android. Not saying Android is bad looking but I want to see something fresh like the FIRST ELSEPHONE's UI.
That was an interesting UI albeit I wasn't really into the one finger usage thing but something with that kind of creative differentiation needs to be put into the Tizen UI to seperate it from the competition.
