That's literally the ugliest thing I've seen today... On a second thought it's obviously exaggeration, but to be quite honest, the first thing that popped in my head was when I saw the sketch was that if I had a phone like this, I'd probably consider killing myself, that's how ugly that is.

Could we please, please, PLEASE just go back to classic bezels? Just make the selfie camera as small as possible and put in top bezel, is that really too much to ask for? Slim bezels, no notch, plastic/metal build (no glass back), regular reliable fingeprint, removable battery... Could we just go back to how things used to be in past? I feel like the entire smartphone innovations peaked with Samsung Galaxy S5 and things just went downhill from there... As if making this compact phone with IP67 rating + removable battery was an absolute peak that was never meant to be reached again... Now manufacturers seal phones shut even with zero IP rating, and you get fragile glass back as a bonus "FU"... So sad :(

Just bring bezels for low and mid tier back and be done with it.

Why not just make the top V shaped so you got room for camera speaker and what not? I say this is a good idea! Why not both sides and we get stereo speakers back? O3O

After trying numrous failed attempts of various sizes & shapes of screen cutouts (notch), punch hole screens & pop-up selfi camera, now they are trying reverse-notch! How can I put this thing in my pocket? One more bend-gate? Isn't thin top and bottom bezel a simple solution for all this? At least, we can hold the handset properly with two hands!

many phone companies patented a lot of weird designs just to have it patented - this won't ever see light of day.

When apple added the notch and i seen it on the X. It didnt catch my eye like a tear drop. Like the sharp aquos s2
pop up camera's are new and interesting and could bring many possibilities to get rid of the notch. But also could bring many problems yet with a single pop up camera you could fit 32mp-48mp in if done correctly. But hey. Someone got to try somthing new

I actually think this is a GREAT IDEA. I prefer this over any notch. The only thing i want to know is how well the protrusion is going to be reinforced.

There are unattractive designs
Then there are outright horrendous designs
Then we have Xiaomi's "reverse notch" design

Reverse notch. The notch is the screen and the rest is black. Add Apple logo on the back and people will buy it.
