I use it a lot, more than 1200 pictures taken and near 100 videos taken have made this phone my best multimedia companion.
Is not only de MPs, is the sensor size, is the lens quality, is the proper flash (xenon so far) and other things that make a good camera.
But there are customers who enjoy a lot having an extraordinary camera phone like the n8.

I can laugh at the picture quality in poor light: this sensor was said to be superior but what we see is blurred images. Same as with other sensors.
And BTW: why the hell do they put 12MP sensors into the phones? Who needs it? Would't it be better if they focused on making a perfect 8MP sensor?

I'm going to check samples when this phone is out, now i can only guess is it better or not compared to Nokia N8 camera samples and after that I'm going to judge samples not now , for sure.

And for your information, the Sony photos posted according to PA, both the Ion and S, are better than the Lumix in most of the people's opinions.

N8 neither a digital cam nor smartphone! you can either buy 2 cheap androids or a 12mp digital cam since N8 fails in both aspects! 12MP sony exmr sensor could do better job than N8

sample pics shows realistic color quality, sharp image having reasonable amount of detail, it could surely compete with other rivals.

For those that think that phonerena phone samples are excellent, you might want to double check the file you are viewing. The files that start with DSC are taken with a digital camera.
Try download the file and view it on your desktop at 1:1 ratio. The photos taken by Xperia S starts with P. It is as noisy as the ones here.
