Still have no idea why Americans blindly opt for iOS just because it is made by Apple. If they looked more into the features of the phone and the OS too, without a doubt Android's market share would have sky-rocketed.
Anyways, on global scale, iOS can't compete with Android's growth - their only region of profit is America.
ttl8me, 19 Jan 2012i have 2 words ---> android rocks!3 words "Android is free"

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2012in real world (not researches) symbian has about 20% HAHAHAHAHAH Which world are you living in there pal? It's certainly not this one, Symbian 20% market share in US? LOL
So you're saying that 1/5th of ALL smart phone users in the US are using Symbian? No.... just No.. If Android has a 45% share and iOS has 30% share that leaves 25% for ALL OTHER SMART PHONES... So there is abolsoutely zero chance Symbian is anywhere near 20% market share, because Blackberry has about 15% lol.
Nice to see that the battle hasn't ended between iOs and Android, and nice to see that Android still has the upper hand :)
if they conduct GLOBAL market, all those percentage would be less than what they here shown.
I've been noticing for some time now that Andriod is getting better than iOS> I also like Mango7.5 on the Lumia
Anonymous, 18 Jan 2012in real world (not researches) symbian has about 20% but this is smartphones report not "all nokiaphones"
These are *US*, not world numbers.
There are more phone users in China than in US. More in Europe than in US. More in India than in US.
Who cares about the US.
It's a dead end, bankrupt backwater anyway, with market controlled by telcos.
The only thing it still has is a money printing press and a shrinking army.
Anonymous, 18 Jan 2012in real world (not researches) symbian has about 20% the report is on the US smartphone market, not global
AnonD-1082, 19 Jan 2012Go Microsoft! Go Nokia! Next quarter will be very different as Nokia will floof the US mark... moreHA HA HA! nope..you would be surprised of that because MS keeps the share 1.2 or similiar digits always!and you have no buisness here.since ms coudn't make atleast 5 percent..here the war between android and apple only!
Anonymous, 19 Jan 2012Stop dreaming Nokia Rulez No one to leer Nokia in US Let's just see about that but I'm pretty sure WP will start eating Android's marketshare. And btw, I am NOT Nokia Rulez but I used to go by the name Nokia Rules and Nokia Rocks.
Well J4fQ, you are clearly a better analyst than the formally trained people we pay hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to.
Please accept a career with us.
Go Microsoft! Go Nokia!
Next quarter will be very different as Nokia will floof the US market with great WP devices. I wouldn't be surprised if their marketshare reach double digits soon.
I have a dumb phone and a ipod touch 4g. it's so amazing!!! the next phone will an iphone 4... no other OS can stisfy me... if u wanna know what ios is without paying huge- buy and ipod touch 4g... the power of A4!
Android is powering thousands of various smartphone models in the globe, but iOS only powers iPhones.
Thus, for iOS to be that close to Android, and it was even much better in terms of number of devices it powers, this makes iOS a leading smartphone OS.
Thumps up for Apple.
