Have you actually seen the Transformer Prime's ba... moreMy thoughts exactly, I was thinking with some it may be a case of late adopters or those who are stuck on 24 month contracts. Im personally happy with my single core Desire S for another year and echo some folks concerns however, but I would just sit out my contract knowing that in 12 months time, the next batch of phones will eclipse whatever HTC will announce, being first isnt always the best as with LG's dual core Optimus 2x, just means im willing to wait a bit longer knowing that nothing stands still for more than a month technologically in this industry and that something better will inevitably come along. Be happy with what you got but I certainly dont oppose the idea of tech going forward
All these people that don't think they need quad core are totally missing the point. Maybe if they actually USED the phone as a fully enabled communication/gaming/gps/scheduling device they would understand.
The potential for 'phones' is HUGE, unfortunately most of the smartphone buyers are not educated enough in what the devices can do for them that they see no need for more.
The manufacturer's don't help the matter either when they stuff garbage GPU's or inferior sound chips in their phones. One part state of the art the other part junk, then the people only see the junk. Case in point, phone camera's. Would be nice to see an 8MP High Quality version in a phone.
Anonymous, 20 Jan 2012 Quad core = pointless marketing gimmick that will make no noticable difference.A part of me aggree with your statement , but the other part just couldn't stand the temptations.
Maybe if an android device that has a quad core processor could substitute the use of my netbook such as usb printing, programs like corel draw, autocad, mapinfo, etc. like my 1ghz dual core amd processor on my acer aspire one 722 than maybe i would give it a try. Okay android is one of the best os that could brings a lot of good quality games and versatile tools apps. But the real need is productifity apps like I mentioned above on windows platform.
Are they finally going to make all in one device? By that I mean, good screen(like on few samsung's devices), fast quad core, plenty of internal memory :D and few others that I forget to mention xD
and yes, please don't go with prices over the top like you usually go :E
Anonymous, 20 Jan 2012 Quad core = pointless marketing gimmick that will make no noticable difference.Won't make a difference? Are you kidding me? Have you actually seen the Transformer Prime's battery life and performance? Performance sees a definite improvement but the real bonus to quad core is how little power they use. Imagine phones with potentially 10+ hours of actual screen-on usage. Quad core phones are anything but gimmicks- don't hate because your contract isn't up for renewal or because you can't afford one.
Quick guys!! HTitaniC is capsizing! Jump ship quick!! :P
TMach, 20 Jan 2012Not sure I am interested in quad core at the moment as doubt most apps etc are not remotely op... moreApple is not behind in the specs. race bro! , what's the point of releasing dual core or quad core if there're no apps or OS to get full advantage of it in the first place???? , that's why iPhone is the best mobile phone out there even with "low" specs. if u say so lol ;)

If HTC will copy Nokia's Lumia design, stick the Sense, use Super Amoled, and bundle a beats earphone then it will sell to the masses. The masses should always be target #1.
does anyone else think that if htc had a slightly better strategy in terms of marketing and brand awareness they would turn over a greater profit?
samsung have a million and one galaxies out in UK, but we know roughly where they all sit in stature (x,y etc), what about htc's strategies? lets make a name up and hope it sticks.
having enormous pixels and processors isnt the be all and end all for consumers, make it sexy and market them well!
Something are meant to be...in d future yur phone will be yur pc..smaller and powerfull..but how d screen will look like..n how u hold n input is the one that to be see...voice from d future
AnonD-16342, 20 Jan 2012More pixels in the same dye = underexposure and less details.... the idea is getting the maxim... moreagreed! i do think so since a mobile device doesn't a need quad core to perform well.we just need 2Ghz well designed dual core cpu and increased battery at this moment. OEMs makiing quadcore only for their wealthy income , its a strategical marketing to fool people
AnonD-4340, 20 Jan 2012YOu guys dont have HTC maybe. HTC Sense is so slow and bloated that quadcore is a minimum requ... moreThen it is HTC's fault of programming... how can Motorola improve their much infamous MotoBlur?
If HTC Sense is slow, then it does not mean you need more power, it means it should be properly optimised..
A mobile is portable device, it would be a total waste if you need to plugin to a power source every 2 hours...
AnonD-252, 20 Jan 2012More cores = longer batterylife...!
More pixels is better than less pixel when lens... is the same!more cores, doesn't necessarily mean better battery life. You have to have optimized software for it to work efficiently.
When a camera has the same lens, the MP doesn't give any better picture, it just means you can blow it up to a bigger image.. This is something a lot of people don't seem to understand!
YOu guys dont have HTC maybe. HTC Sense is so slow and bloated that quadcore is a minimum requirement. Hope they also tripple the memory bandwidth to count for the bloatiness of Sense. If you want a normal processor in a HTC then you will have to root it.
Why in the name of GOD we need a quadcore in a phone?!!! Dualcores and Quadcores are so virtual marketing! Look at the new Intel CPU for phones, singlecore and they blowout every benchmark on android versus the gigants of samsungs dualcores smartphones?? So whats the stupid point! Just buy a laptop or something. I will wait for the Motorola Intel smartphones...ZZzzz
AnonD-252, 20 Jan 2012More cores = longer batterylife...!
More pixels is better than less pixel when lens... is the same!More pixels in the same dye = underexposure and less details.... the idea is getting the maximum exposure per pixel.......fitting 16 million pixels in 1/2.3" dye is absolutely horrible.....
For more details google is there for you....
Regarding QUAD core.... more battery life???? You are really getting me laugh....
Quad cores will have more efficient cores, but not 50% less power utilised per core....
Hence when you are doubling the cores, the total power is higher than dual core ones...
You are the kind of person who gets brainwashed by the media...

Same as the 16MPX devi... more16Mpx and 16Gb onboard(only) memory or shoul I say what's left for the user, almost 12Gb's for the upcoming WP7's HTC flagship.
That HTC race is insanely wrong.
