these designers still living their mind in 2018

Boldy, 08 May 2019This is not new. The razer phone already uses this tech. The OnePlus 7 pro display is special ... moreFYI: Razer sourced their displays from Sharp, and Sharp series of AQUOS phones have been rocking 120Hz since 2015 and bezeless phones since 2014.

Walter C. Dornez, 08 May 2019Ah I see. So are they making a regular smartphone? They do make smartphones for years now, but not as much recently. They are the FIRST(not Samsung) to have Iris scanner on their phone, way back in 2015. Check Fujitsu F-04G.
I would buy it just to stamp it against the wall

I have a SH-01G & 02G (+SH-01H &02H, 302SH, SH-04F, Aquos Crystal X, SH-04 Star Wars edition) and they are still working brilliantly to this day! IGZO is underrated in the smartphone world. Seems like most others have not experienced the beauty of a 120Hz + extreme battery life ;-)

Se... moreThat is what they've been doing for the past 5 years, having their FFC at the bottom bezel. Also, the 2 distinct notch is rather, imo, a marketing ploy by SHARP, to tell the world they can mould they IGZO displays into any shapes desired.
Anonymous, 09 May 2019Something something about copying a fruit company for no valid reason at all.It has 3.5" jack
3200 mAh battery is perfectly sufficient despite what the half-knowledgeable "experts" here write because they have no clue what an IGZO display is. Plus, this is the latest, 5th generation IGZO. No other display in the world comes even closer to the energy saving capabilities of it. My ancient Aquos SH-01G with a 3rd generation IGZO lasts three days on a single charge now that it's 5 years old (used to do 5+ days when new).
This is also the world's first true 10-bit color depth phone (the Sony Xperia 1 simulates 10-bit but is in reality 8-bit plus 2-bit smoothing. And Sharp's displays are the world's only to have 120 Hz refresh rate (Razer buys it from them).
Japanese Sharp Aquos phones works all over the world, they just need to be SIM-unlocked (now free in Japan) if carrier-branded, but the Aquos R3 will also be released in a SIM-free version that supports all the worlds LTE/3G frequencies.
Here's the thing, why not cram the capacitive button AND the camera onto that bottom notch? Seems very practical to me since the on-screen navbar already ate up part of the screen. Only problem is occasional touching of the lens but honestly who uses it that often?
Anonymous, 09 May 2019Something something about copying a fruit company for no valid reason at all.You do realize Oppo and Moto had removed 3.5mm jacks before the said fruit company? Stop being a cry baby..

Anonymous, 08 May 2019Shame on you for thinking you speak for all buyers.Lack of choice =/= Acceptance.
Same applies to you as well.
Anonymous, 09 May 2019No 3.5mm jack.?Something something about copying a fruit company for no valid reason at all.
If only the top and bottom notch is symmetrical
High quality screen, with an ugly notch and poor battery life. Really?
Designers living under a rock, didn't know that notches are ugly.
When one notch is not enough.
No 3.5mm jack.?
