I really do think this year Sony will come back fighting with all the brands and surprise us with a few special phones, come mid year!! Especially if they are calling the shots with producing some mindblowing lens sensors... watch this space!

Well i think Mr Elop doesn't have a grasp of what consumers want...look at the 2 best selling smartphones, what are the selling points? SPECS,FEATURES,USABILITY,LOOK,HIGH QUALITYAPPS/GAMES,UNIQUENESS.
Microkia only offers 2 of those, look&usability, it misses all the others.
If the nokia lumia 800 had of been released as a competitor to the iphone 4 - original galaxy s, then it would have had a clear winner...on everyfront, as it right now i can find no compelling reason to want a Nokia over say a galaxy s3... and i am a Nokia fan.
The things that made a nokia -a nokia- have been sold down the river, the camera is worse than the competition..when it used to be the best..in fact its worse than its own design from the symbian n8.
The screen, whilst having the polariser is also 2 years out of date.
The processor-used to be good in nokias up to the n95- is now also 2 generations old..same with the ram & graphics.
The look and feel of the devices looks good, but they are not the thinnest/lightest either, despite being made out of plastic.
There are no compelling 3d games that are worthy of carrying the hallowed xbox live monica..neither is the out of date graphics capable of running any.
Nokia lumia doesn't even have a front facing camera/or NFC ffs...nokia INVENTED NFC!?
My loyalty and patience is wearing very thin with microkia, the n9 was approaching the type of phone that i expected from nokia..they have since gone backwards.
Every other manufacturer is innovating on things that used to be nokia strength, and as such they are the ones selling phones, whilst the lumia is a sales flop.
Trying to talk down features and specs that the opposition is innovating on and offering customers seems pretty stupid and arrogant to me..especially when they are translating into sales and brand loyalty.
For the record...YES folks do want a quad core phone with a 16mp camera and powerfull graphics, and a hd screen...and YES if a nokia had those features it would definatly sell better...what is he smoking?
By the time the 900 is released, there will be talk of Jellybean and IOS6 and Iphone 5 will be weeks away, by the time the 900 is eligible for an update we'll probably get Android Kraft Cheesecake rumours with the Galaxy S4 already announced, Nokia can ill afford to take thier time in the fastest growing industry in the world, especially with no genuine Apollo flagship with the OS out of the box until mid 2013.

The people above said it all..We all want our smartphones with beefier batteries,and also better power consumption from the smartphones themselves.To this end,it would have been much more efficient if they just had a dual core exynos @ 32nm running @ 2ghz instead of quadcore and @ a lower speed..kudos on deciding to upgrade the screen and camera sensor however.If that is accurate,then Samsung are preparing us all to a multimedia treat..wonder what the internal storage will be

I can't help to notice one thing... Samsung Galaxy SII sold well but it seems to me it didn't made such a splash as the original Galaxy S... Maybe they are loosing momentum at Samsung.
This one doesn't seem that much of a ground breaking device... a few more Mpx and 2 additional cores...

Javad, 24 Jan 2012Is the best... I feel Samsung android phones is better than HTC or other brands.It's never proof it. Only more complaining about the heat and the copy desing from Apple.
Further more, do realy think quad core will be the big differend? Look at the SOny Arc, i has only 1 Gig MGhz with 320 RAM and almost the same with speed wihle SG2 has 1.2 Gig Dualcore with 1 Gig RAM.
Think better next time.

You can be sure that this hardware will be inadequate to run the latest Android and Samsung's wondrous(read as resource hog) TouchWiz in 12 months time.
After Samsung stranded me on a 12 months more contract with no updates and already many broken apps that do not work with TouchWiz and will only increase in number, I will never ever touch a Samsung product again.

Is there really any need for quad core
for ICS?..samsung are jst making processors ICs complicating..for God sake wat is damn slow in dual core ICS running 1.5GHz speed???? Of how many applications a phone lover would wanna run on its task manager...making a quad core is of no use when my galaxy S II runs smoothy than any other smartphone on earth

[deleted post]i was thinking the same thing, but someone mentioned to me that its not about utilizing the cores but rather being ahead of tech itself.. look at how far tech has boomed within the past few years. Hopefully with a quad core phone i wont have to buy a new one within the year...hopefully hahaha
