One can only see the ... moreSamsung 64MP sensor has the same 0.8micrometer pixel size as the 48MP ones, making it 33% larger overall. This makes it a 1/1.7" or 1.8" type sensor. It merges four pixels into one, pushing out 16MP images in low light environments and remosaic algorithm for full 64MP shots in brighter scenarios.

That's why there a pretty good value proposition 6 months from from launch. If LG could use one of the new 64MP (or the upcoming 100MP) sensor, with great HDR and superb Computational Photography they could have a great flagship, at mid range pricing.

The last Oracle, 24 May 2019The J7 Prime and G6 are not in the same league, budget wise. I hope you know that. Oh, I know. But for my personal experience, they were the same price because the G6 was sourced from Ebay lol. But yeah, since they were the same price, like you said, the G6 is much better due to its higher league.

Just make it aluminium, with ip rating, and with stock Android then I'll buy it and so will everybody else
The 64MP sensor is quite big at 1/1.7"... But still smaller than the 41MP 1/1.2" sensor on the Nokia 808... Expect great images from the latest sensor though... Nokia pioneered downsampling technique with the 808 back in 2012.. Now only after 6+ years other manufacturers starts to see the benefit of downsampling.. Nokia 9 Pureview is the latest concept by Nokia to achieve unbelievable dynamic range.. I guess it will be another 5-6 years before other manufacturers follow suit?

Anonymous, 24 May 2019The world can't wait for Sony always. Where is the Xperia 1 that was announced months ago?Their phones take ages to go out, but their sensors come out pretty quickly.
In just about a month after the announcement, Huawei managed to use the new Sony IMX586 sensor on their Honor View 20 already.
