That pretty much shows how separated their government is no matter how much you try to convinced us they are the same country or something. Trust me. Even Taiwanese won't agree with your opinion.

You can only tell differences between comparable chipsets that are in the same performance category by looking at boring benchmarks, and in any category, MediaTek's chips will be cheaper than Qualcomm's.

So I'll give it... moreIf you're talking sources etc... yeah it's a combination of greedy Mediatek (why disclose current tech when you can push something newer and for a higher price :P also, like any Chinese/HK company, they're probably very obsessive with their OWN technology protection -- doesn't stop the overprotective Chinese chaps from stealing OTHER contestants' projects tho) and greedy manufacturers (I'll always remember the Umi Plus E fiasco... one of the first P20 devices, but Umi(digi) chose SUCH a cut-down cheap no-licences-included variant of the P20 (6757CD I think) that after promising a Nougat update, they COULDN'T deliver -- because Mediatek never promised to supply proper documentation and disclose sources for this exact P20 variant)...

It's gonna be horrible like all MediaTek products, and we all know that.
Some of you needs to stop thinking Taiwan and China as separated entity in tech. Most of the major Taiwanese have more operations in mainland China than Taiwan. Most of MediaTek's customers are Chinese OEMs and as you can read, M70 is designed with input from BKK

MediaTek is waving at Donald Trump.kirin 720 and kirin 885 will not affected that mean honor will not have hardware issue for midrange and flagship until 2021.
Luxor, 29 May 2019Chinese brand obviously. Especially their midranger. They can't afford buying Qualcomm chips. Not only chinese oem, but also local oem in south east asia prefer mediatek due to lower cost.
if only they are most CustomDevs Firmware maker friendly, i'd get or recommend one but alas. you're stuck on whatever android it comes with at the mercy of the manufacturer for very very very rare updates till its end of life then itll become trash.
Luxor, 29 May 2019Chinese brand obviously. Especially their midranger. They can't afford buying Qualcomm chips. They move to Spreadtrum /UNISOC which is chinese too and then what?

MediaTek Inc. is a Taiwanese company! You might find their interests are more aligned with the US than China.
