Google will probably still use this same design for three generations, so I'm in no rush with it. I hope they can the Pixel 4a as small as the 4.
The Snapdragon 670 is faster than the 821. I figured this because the 670 was hailed to be as fast or faster than the 820. Midrange SoCs are as fast or faster as flagships from 3 years ago.
My Pixel 3 probably beats all of them. If you're not a gamer, then 670 is more than enough. We're just paying extra for the faster GPU.
Pixel mobiles sort of lost the race with under powered hardware, low RAM, no ISFP, lots of issues wrt hardware, display issues etc...buggy software....the price they for this is ridiculously way too high!! Google support and services in my place doesn't even exist, but they ask for Apple and Samsung prices....
The no physical buttons rumors better not be true. I could eventually adjust not having them but I'm worried if the display freezes.
Denis Thomas, 29 May 2019Why? When you watch a movie bezels give you space to rest your fingers on. Honestly, the bezels of the Meizu 16s, BlackShark 2, and Samsung 9+ are much better than most notch and punch holes.
The only punch holes that are remotely acceptable are the ones placed at the Left Corner like the Honor View 20, and the only notch that's acceptable are the tear-drop like the Redmi Note7 Pro.
However, the REAL offender isn't the bezel/notch/treardrop/holepunch... it's the Aspect Ratio!
In fact, I would much prefer a Symmetrical Double Short Notch like the ZTE Iceberg, on a 17:9 display rather than:
- Big Notch on a 16:9 display
- Single Short notch on a 18:9 display
- Teardrop notch on a 19:9 display
- Left Corner Punch-hole notch on a 20:9 display
- Slim Bezel on a 21:9 display
Making a screen taller isn't helping me the user, it's just making the device unnecessarily larger. And it makes these little quibbles about the notch rather moot, when the size/display changes are huge with the aspect ration alteration.
If this is true, then that's great! Front facing stereo speakers (hopefully with metal grills) with minimal bezels and no notch... Perfect! Now, all I need is for it to have 5g support and I'm upgrading my OG Pixel

Anonymous, 29 May 2019As ugly as pixel 3 XL. People does not admit hole is ugly just because Samsung uses. And i... moreAgain .. go for vision test soon and some english classes may be. I never said this is beautiful design ...lol .. This at least not as worse as pixel 3 xl. That phone was king of ugly design !!!
I am more curious if they will also use a wide angle and telephoto lens on the back. Instead of just one lens. It is a shame that such good software only supports one normal lens officially.
Anonymous, 29 May 2019Auch brither oled display that they will call "burn retina display" Ha ha ha :))))Never see an iPhone X/XS and XS max that have burn in OLED.

So this time they'll ask >$1000 for two simple cameras even without a proper telephoto like the pericope ones from P30 Pro, Reno 10X or the new from Samsung... Of course, the audio jack will still missing, the expandable memory too, etc... More of the same selling you expensive plastic.
I don't want to waste space on a front camera, so I certainly don't want a double width one. And punch holes waste more space than notches because of the useless pixels above them rather than useful pixels below if you move the camera upwards. Plus sticking them on the right, moving the key icons off to the side, is particularly annoying.
So no, not interested. I'll wait until this passing fad dies (it's just a transitional solution), or buy something else if I need to.
Lovely. This trend of notch shows how stupid the world is and for how long that stupidity can continue too.
