I find this funny. A "NEW" chip that has yet to be released being benchmarked and barely beats Samsung's Exynos processor. It's not surprising that a new chip has better numbers than a chip that has been out for almost a year. What surprises me is that it took this long to finally make that accomplishment. But this won't live long once we start seeing Samsung's next SoC. Just wait until they benchmark the Galaxy S3.

I managed to get 51.9 FPS running a cyanogenmod 9 alpha release on i9100 with NenaMark2. I also got 51.4 fps on Gingerbread 2.3.6. These seem to be very ideal results. Usually i hit only 48 fps.

the resolutions involved are both far too low to have any effect (for the samsung and the new chip) -- these architectures routinely drive external displays up to ~2500x1600 without any performance issues at all.
is this the 2.5Ghz chip?? That's especially disappointing, the numbers one would hope for would be at least twice as high as the samsung using near-2-year-old technology.

The way I see it these scores are really bad!
They compare an almost year old GS2 phones results with reference hardware that didnt sell a single phone!
By the time such a phone gets released GS3 is gonna sweep the floor with these phones (and their scores).

Has I said before this makes no,since to me unless Samsung makes Ann exclusive game for there upcoming gs3 Just like how apple has the infinity blade series, they need a game to showcase the new exynos and Mali.

Tegra 3 is not a GPU, its a family of SOCs.

Honestly. This is amazing. Although it will make absolutely no difference to my life, at all as I use the phone for angry birds and mail/internet, and an Alienware computer for gaming.

Still cool though for those looking for the home theatre experience.. on a phone!

The only thing this benchmark brings to the table is that quad-core is not an improvement some people think it will be.

But it`s still very relevent, cause the different benchmarks always shows different results.
Example: Xperia S just shows at some benchmarks and beats SGS2 and Galaxy Note on AnTuTu and Vellamo, but it`s way behind in Nenamrk2. So who will tell us which one is better?! No one... it depends on people preferences. ;)

What really counts is real life performance, which hardly depends on optimisation of the software on top of the hardware, and isn`t represented with benchmarks.

And in the end android game developers will still make graphics for the weakest devices, making benchmark kings... just that - benchmark kings, without any real-world benefits.

I know one thing about Galaxy flagships,
When they are released they come with a punchy CPU/GPU combo that belittles pretty much everything else existing in the market at that point of time.

That's how it was for the original S, the S2 and will be for the S3. ;)

Well at least it's on par with the SGX543MP2 in the A5 now. They are on par with each other according to AnandTech.
