Anonymous, 09 Jun 2019Amazon sells or used to sell subsidized phones in the US, making back the money in Ads, which ... moreYes and also in India but you get it for a very cheap price if you are good with amazon ads instead of paying its actual price and those ads are only on the lock screen not throughout the UI like Xiaomi phones and not to mention Xiaomi don't give any bargain even if you are purchasing ad filled phone.
BTW amazon stopped practicing that in India even when they are more transparent about advertisement and also they compensate their customer by giving them discount.

The only things you lose out on are the software of Oneplus, and the display refresh rate...
They even have the same Sony IMX586 sensor.... Ads are a really small price to pay, especially in developing markets like India and China, where value is everything...

@dreak

Since you're not smart enough to understand the difference between bragging and complain and calling K20 a flagship phone, allow me to enlighten you on something.

Redmi phones aren't any cheaper than before they started using Ads. Other companies are also providing pretty much similar specs at close enough prices and without Ads ( Note 7 Pro vs Realme 3 Pro and X ). Even PocoPhone F1 which was the cheapest Flagship phone last year doesn't have Ads. So answer me why MIUI on Redmi phones needs to have Ads ?

Sure I can disable Ads by disabling online recommendations and push message options in apps individually as well as remove system Apps with ads through ADB or install custom ROMs altogether, but then again why should I pay same amount of money as before and also have to deal with ads ?

Arif238, 04 Jun 2019Which phone has ads in its UI other than Xiaomi? What are you even saying? I don't know what he's smoking but I want some lol as if MIUI wasn't bad enough they had to go ahead and include stupid ads too on a device you already paid money for smh that alone is enough to keep me away from cheap Xiaomi phones.

I'd rather get a OnePlus 7 Pro instead of a wannabe any day of the week even though I'm not a fan of the pop-up selfie camera.

Like Apple OnePlus doesn't care, they're more established and reputable thanks to their hardware and software combination, relatively affordable price tag, fast updates and robust developer community.

I mean it's a creative campaign for sure but slandering the competition repeatedly only makes them appear insecure. Best to focus on promoting your own phone.

Never understand why many people care so much about "smoothness", I just simply turn off all animation in Developer Options, Super Fast! Smoothness? BULLSHIT!
