I think LG staff are looking the the new stylo thinking "this will be a galaxy note killer!"
Well, guess again!
Stylo is a modest phone with many better phones in its price segment. I doubt this year's will be any different.
Copy the cat, 09 Jun 2019Troll spamming about update... Who cares about updates?? You all will dead if no updates?? ... moreWell i can buy call card that come with a phone and cost around 20 euro. Can be usable for 5 or more years too. To only make calls. I even have Nokia Lumia 520 that works just fine and is like 6 years old. Or Samsung Galaxy Gio that i used 2 years before that. But when i need to pay more then i expect to have update too. Quality is placebo effect especially works well with higher price tag.

Who cares about updates?? You all will dead if no updates?? ... moreThe updates in the Android version matters a lot due to compatibility with new applications. The updates correct old bugs matter if those trigger crashes of the system under certain situations. There are sometimes where they approve versions without detect a security breach or bug. So yes, some updates could be fundamental sometimes. But, of course, the released versions of Android always try to be as stable as possible.
Some apps can't work with old Android versions. When you develop an app you choose a mimimun version your app need to work. And if the phone not acomplish it the app can't be installed. Some times you can allow the app work without a secondary feature in older versions you though, but if a function of the API/SDK is needed you must require it and choose what is the older allowed version to make your app properly functional with the design you have decided.
Reduce features or refuse to use some latest goodies from a new SDK is not always possible if you want to attract customers that search and ask for them. As a developer you always try to cover the widest range of possible versions, but now that Android has evolved a lot, there is almost always a limit that you can not go through without giving up something that makes it unfeasible for your design.

Walter C. Dornez, 08 Jun 2019Hm, well there isn't many 16:9 phones nowadays, but some older flagships could be had. Still, ... morehmm all things is not about notch , old phones has true square corners , in some modern phones like Honor 7x it's same, that's why i told mine 16:9. square corners , btw i like them when there is notch or there is a V notch like in OnePlus 6T / 7 and x10 - x20 samsung models, my budget is 0 now , so i keep my phone
Anonymous, 09 Jun 2019don't expect update from them, because they are in big trouble. they just introduced 9 device... moreQ9 is the SKorean version of the G7 Fit (which is already available). The Q9 comes out sometime this summer in SKorea only.
Ex LG Fan, 08 Jun 2019No one in their right minds will buy an LG smartphone. LG doesn't update their devices, if so,... moredon't expect update from them, because they are in big trouble.
they just introduced 9 devices in 2019 to now & all of them have very low specs like sd425,helio p22, MT6750,sd450
solo lte, k8s, x4(2019), k12+, k40, k50, q60, tribute empire, aristo 3
solo lte with sd450 isn't confirmed yet
5 of them have helio p22, none of them have 4000 or 5000 battery
you can't find many of them in online store, maybe they just nsme & they will never make them
just like Q9 in 2018...sd821...3000mah...6.1inch...4/64...android8...who buy this device & where is the place that selling it?!
We spent half a year and see this situation. what does this situation mean? This is a broke phone manufacturer
akw, 08 Jun 2019A50 and M30 are best choice , K20 is not bad , it's good without adsTrue, but it would be best to wait for the successors or variants of those phones later this year
akw, 08 Jun 2019my Budget is 0 Now , i don't want new phone i keep my 16:9 notch-free phone. but i want more s... moreHm, well there isn't many 16:9 phones nowadays, but some older flagships could be had. Still, a modern mid-range phone is very good as well. And since you don't want a notch, that's something else older phones could help with, though it limits upgrade choices
akw, 08 Jun 2019A50 and M30 are best choice , K20 is not bad , it's good without adsSoon you dont need to worry about the ads even on the one region that they have as in India. None of the other regions have ads. And Xiaomi have started to fix these ads even on the region that they are only in the phone.
I dont know why GSMA dont see this as a news to show in there site and thats why these trolls who should never use smartphone that are to dumb to turn the ads off.
For me i dont want any of them LG, Samsung, Sony, Nokia and so on that are all old brands that live on the brand name like a luxurious items and thats what they are cause the hardware they give is either very slow or just too old and dont justify anything on them for the price they ask. And on the budget range i buy phone then none of them get updates. Well except Nokia but these are just too expensive for my taste. I have Redmi Note 5 Ai/Pro the global version that on new was out of the BOX with Android 8 and not like India version with 7.1 and few days ago i got Android 9 Pie installed on it as first official android update for that model. And the phone cost me only 170 euro with SD636. Nokia at the same time didnt have SD636 and the phone that come with it was like 2 times the price of what i got the note 5. So i dont see any good reason to pay more to get less and no updates too from these luxury brands.
Walter C. Dornez, 08 Jun 2019Well depends. What's your budget?A50 and M30 are best choice , K20 is not bad , it's good without ads
Walter C. Dornez, 08 Jun 2019Well depends. What's your budget?my Budget is 0 Now , i don't want new phone i keep my 16:9 notch-free phone. but i want more storage (i don't want better camera much) i love m20 and m10 but one of it is expensive and both of them are PLS tft!
nst2018, 08 Jun 2019hahaxxaxs...who the stupid will buy lg phone? No one in their right minds will buy an LG smartphone. LG doesn't update their devices, if so, only their flagships.
My LG G4 Beat is stuck on Android 6.0.1, while the G4 got Android 7.
I have the Stylus 3. LG released it with 7.0. They never even upgraded it to 7.1.
Then, I bought the Q6. Earliest mid-range 18:9 smartphone released just as Android 8 released, yet LG Q6 is never gonna get Android 9.
I am tired of LG not updating their products, and I am never gonna get another LG phone.
My next Android phone will probably be a Nokia or Samsung since Pixel is not being sold in my country.
-never again, LG
PiCosm, 08 Jun 2019Because Samsung have the high end stylus phone market sown up. Owning a Note 9, I can say that... moreAutodesk Sketchbook Pro with SD4XX? I don't know about that... Stylo 4 seem like a decent basic phone at most. Not sure what chipset they would use for this Stylo 5. They could at least slab a SD632 there and add more ram.
