Why not 144Hz? They are the nr. 1 gaming brand.....
YEAH RIGH YEAH RIGHT, 14 Jun 2019buy a gaming pc instead lmaoWell i have. Its much better.
By the way good gaming phone can last maybe 2-4 years but good gaming PC can last 5-10 years easy for same price.
AnonD-731363, 12 Jun 2019Well all sounds great but last ROG phone with all add-ons cost almost as brand new galaxy fold. buy a gaming pc instead lmao
I hope the ROG Phone 2 will be able to overclock the CPU more % than the ROG Phone 1 can of 200MHZ (7%). Otherwise, it really isn't any faster than another same-gen flagship phone besides no thermal throttling benefits. I'm rooting for ya
What happened to you Asus. U have Zenphone 6z as flagship. How in spec does this ROG Phone 2 is different from it.
I agree ROG Phone is unique that time.
My opinion is that, this features must always be switchable, and designed in such a way that it should help preserve battery.
There's no point having 120 Hz for menus and regular apps. It kills battery too. In fact, I'd be ok with 30 or 48 Hz too, if it helps.
Well all sounds great but last ROG phone with all add-ons cost almost as brand new galaxy fold.

Anonymous, 11 Jun 2019X, X Performance , XZ, XZs, XZ Premium, XZ1, XZ2, XZ2c, XZ3, XA2, XA2+, XA2 Ultra, 10, 10+ and... morehi. sony phones are all stuck on 60Hz screen refresh rate. these features you are talking about is the touch screen sampling rate, that's entirely different, and most recent flagship devices have touch sampling rates set at 120Hz with the exception of the new ipads having as high as 240Hz touch sampling rates for the apple pencil. the sharp phones with 120Hz have this on variable refresh rate, while the ones on razer phone and razer phone 2 are fixed refresh rates. so, gsma is correct- this is only the third smartphone with true 120Hz refresh rate.
Faiakes, 12 Jun 201916:9 display please? And 6" diagonal at least... Sure 16:9 is still great for most media. But 6" 16:9 would make the phone too big/wide. Look at the size of 5.8" XZ2 Premium.

Anonymous, 11 Jun 2019X, X Performance , XZ, XZs, XZ Premium, XZ1, XZ2, XZ2c, XZ3, XA2, XA2+, XA2 Ultra, 10, 10+ and... moreAre you high? None of these phones "display" is 120Hz. That's called touch sensitivity what you are talking about
Faiakes, 12 Jun 201916:9 display please? And 6" diagonal at least... Bruh that would be so uncomfortable to hold in hand. 5.5 Inches is enough for 16:9

Anonymous, 11 Jun 2019Samsung is best in displays for years.
And displaymate is not offering a free service. Samsung has never had the best displays that rightfully goes to sharp
Samsung wins the popularity contest
Hell sharp and it's ink injection approach had better oled yields
Kangal, 12 Jun 2019I almost got the ASUS RoG Phone. What killed it for me was that it lacked the Water Resistance... moreAgreed. Sales and repair should be easily access but in many countries they didn't even know where to fix. This will of course lower the customer's trust of the product even it's so great.
I almost got the ASUS RoG Phone. What killed it for me was that it lacked the Water Resistance Certification, and no microSD expansion (I need it for storing photos/videos/emulators). Even if I could overlook these big omissions, this phone was priced insanely, to the point where no-one actually bought it. And to make matters worse its availability and warranty options were practically non-existent.
If the ASUS RoG Phone 2 wants to be successful, they need to:
– keep the current hardware (speakers, ports, etc)
– price it right (USD $799 or lower)
– have proper availability (see Zenfone 6)
– include the microSD slot (dualSIM also desirable)
– add IP68 Water Resistance (its a minimum requirement for high-end phones)
– include inside the box two JoyCons like the Nintendo Switch (see BlackShark 2)
– provide the kernel source and allow bootloader unlock, use Stock-ishOS (see Zenfone 6)
– fix the fingerprint reader (either a proper working rear, or an Ultrasonic front)
– use a much better front and rear camera (see Nubia RedMagic 3, K20 Pro, Meizu 16s)
– upgrade the screen 120Hz, and maybe also add HDR10+ support (the +1080p resolution is fine)
– upgrade the SoC (QSD 855, UFS3.0, etc etc)
...the last three points are a given, I'm more interested in them fixing the first eight points on that list which are more daunting in terms of useage.
I hope they have an expansion slot and some high-end cameras. I know it's a gaming phone, but if they have all that, AND a battery to support all that, I'm definitely buying it...
