Anonymous, 02 Feb 2012androids fanboys always making a story against nokia,,,if i were u try the brand first...then ... moreExcuse me. I have owned Symbian (Nokia and Sony Ericsson), Windows Mobile and Android phones and in that order of ownership. If MS want to continue selling units the new OS's need to provide more than the old ones, not less. That is a no brainer I would have thought?? Apparently it isn't for MS!!!
The phone does not provide the functionality or customisation options I require. Simple as that. One look at its spec. sheet tells me that.
Really Windows Mobile and up coming windows 8 OS has identical GUI? Thats awesome.
androids fanboys always making a story against nokia,,,if i were u try the brand first...then u will react....android sucks

If you want to sell units you need to have the most saleable items. It is what customers actually want, which is not always necessarily the best. The VHS vs Betamax video recorder argument many years ago proved that one.
Mr. Elop is absolutely correct. I had been a wireless sales person and a cell phone retail store owner. We sold where we can maximize our commission and not what is the best phone. The writer is not in touch with reality.
AnonD-2663, 02 Feb 2012customer: My contract's about to expire and I'm looking for a new handset to replace my old on... moreI would like to take my 30 GB of music on my 32 GB SD card and put it in my new phone. Sorry Sir MS have dictated their phones will not have card slots.
I would like to have my daily alarm running in the background as a task and listen to music while playing a a game as I do on my current phone. As MS phone cannot mutli-task properly you can forget doing that Sir. You cannot play music and play games simultaneously as the OS cannot mutli task properly.
I would like to turn off the Metro Interface and change the launcher and hence appearance of the device etc. On no sir! Defintely not!
Now shall we move on to just about every other phone on the market Sir? Yes, of course you can do all of those things just as you did before Sir!
That's just part of why it doesn't sell.
Elop is wrong. I was at a T-Mobile store last week, and the salesman were promoting the Lumia 710 to the customers. I guess AT&T's strategy is just different.
It is ridiculous for Elop to say what he said. I hope that it was a misquote, as Nokia and WP7.5 mango is very capable of making it to the top. It is the excitement of the market place that dictate the salesmen's duty and not the other way round. Note that customer's who do not know what they buy make up less that 2% of the actual buyers of the smartphones, that is my info from a few dealers I met.
I use the Lumia 800. It is totally mindblowing! Fast and smooth, with a delicious design.
Nokia please add one android phone on your list to sell here in brazil. Thankx
All people will embrace the Windows Mobile and Windows 8 Os,,this coming year..because they have an indentical GUI..Microsoft RULEz
Windows Mobile will boost the sales market this Year...Mark my Word...
for me, its better that nokia choose WP. Why? WP has a very low rated OS, Its nokia's chance to prove that they can still be in the league by having their name rather than choosing android that even they back on the top, some will just say "its just because of android".
customer: My contract's about to expire and I'm looking for a new handset to replace my old one.
rep: what phone are you using at the moment?
customer: an iphone 3GS, but i'm a bit bored of it
rep: what do you mainly use the phone for?
customer: mainly texting, facebook, calls, taking the odd pic when i'm out with friends.
rep: hmm.. what about web browsing
customer : not really. I have a computer for that
rep: (ignoring everything the customer has said) This one runs the popular android operating system and has a 1.2Ghz dual core processor with 1GB of RAM inside. That means it's 4 times faster than your 3GS (a lie in itself).
Do you spend a lot of time on youtube??
rep: This phone supports adobe flash, which means video sites like youtube can be played in the browser
get the picture ? all phones are basically the same, but sales rep's don't go out of their way to point this out.
All WP7 phones have same BIG flaw, they have too small storage, Microsoft really need to fix it and fast and start súpport bigger storage like everyone else doing, no wonder why it's total flop so far.
nokia flood the market with low end phones no one believes that there flaship are any good the damage was done years ago and there trying well to repair there name, we can sell WP here but its the nokia name that lets it down the company owener mr flop is useless samsung WP will do much better nokia should have realised the N9 to the UK it would have done well but they over price the lumia 800 its the same as the iphone 4 what are you gonna buy with your money??
