lol, 03 Feb 2012can someoen explain why we're still using glass instead of clear plastic ? i'd rather have 5-1... moreGorilla glass It's not real glass... more like synthetic glass... It is realy hard to make scractch resistan plastic surface - softer - wont' crack and harder - scratsch resistant but less resistant to crack on hard impact... Gorilla glass is no 1 at this moment... just take a look at iphone "glass" just one drop is enough to crack the whole phone... "apple" tick glass - Personaly I think Iphone uses gorilla glas, but they paid for silence, so they can claim their own tehcnology, just like they lied about hardware and display... 90% korean technology... Samsung & LG...

[deleted post]This is because Samsung are developers at the cutting edge of many industries.

You may not like them, but they are making a global impact and difference to our lives.

The Koreans are both good designers, engineers and in-house manufactures with a balance of good quality to price ratio.

Without guys like these, you'd still be stuck in the 80's my friend.

Ultimately, they are popular because they are giving people quality they want at ALL price levels. That is a thumbs up from me!

It's really annoying if you see your phone have mark scratch.

lol, 03 Feb 2012can someoen explain why we're still using glass instead of clear plastic ? i'd rather have 5-1... morePlastic dents and scratches much more easily than glass... and breaks down and scuffs.

And if that plastic is made hard enough to not be affected by those things, then it inherits the ability to crack anyway.

So like ... thats why we use glass.

Also feels better to the touch and easyer to clean . Also plastic degrades in time.
