Apple deserved that, for stealing technology from Motorola, however it's a pity that the consumer is the one to suffer because of it. Still, Apple started this, this with licensing war - Apple + customers are the one to suffer the consequences.

court battles are a mainstay for corporations, no matter what industry. it's a necessary "evil" that's employed to protect their interests. not really losing money, more like the cost of doing business.

Apple might like to think they invented mobile technologies but Motorola and Nokia were years ahead of them.

Yippee!! Best news of the week. Apple gets a dose of their own medicine. Perhaps if they spent less time trying to take everyone in sight to court they would get left alone. They are obviously too stupid to work that one out! Let's hope they lose more things like this. Perhaps then they will learn some humility and start some genuine innovation rather than trying to stop others overtaking them by running to the nearest coutroom.

its,sad that all these multinational companies spend a lot of money and valuable time on suing each other (only apple is to be blamed since tgat was an 'i idea'...)
now other companies are forced to follow suit..drop this pointless fight..share each others tech..focus on quality and innovation..and take a place in peoples hearts for actual reasons...
one such out standing example is the galaxy s II..by samsung..
but now samsung is just making diff types of the same phone...looking forward to 'edge' by htc..ppbly one of the first quad core phone..breach more boundaries..bring up the innovation level! change the world..

Nice design but no iTech. So you have to pay for patents if you want to use the tech.
Stupid thing you need to get sued to make sure you do so.
