Dominique, 25 Jun 2019Aren't Google playstore apps caters both for iOS and Android? That's doesn't be the underlying OS allow such exploits. In other words, iOS is more secure than the crappy Android. Can't believe Android is still as just insecure after all these years. No wonder iPhone is still the number mobile phone in the world!
Malave, 25 Jun 2019On this day, million people just make shit app,try to make easy money with fake app, just want... moreHow would that work? To change google play to Apple App Store environment you would need to police which app can go into the store not to mention the countless of software reviewers needed to pass muster for either app or update on a daily base that would require large amount resources & funds to operate & maintain.
oh nooo.. so they spy on me while I am running on the temple...
On this day, million people just make shit app,try to make easy money with fake app, just want adsense, fck them all, just make playstore environment like appstore, thats better
Based on the picture selected for this article, I have to assume Maps, Google, Gmail, Chrome, and the Play Store itself are also infected....
Unfortunately, the majority of Apps still try to access things that do not need it.
Like, why would a Calculator App need access to your Contacts?
This is very common practice, and its one of the reasons why Custom Roms have been better than SkinnedOS or StockOS, as they've had tools and permissions to stop, pause, block these permissions. Eventually these MODs and tools trickle down to the OEMs, and after an even longer period, Google implements them into the AOSP.
Whilst Apple didn't have these tools for even longer period, the fact that Apple was vetting each submission carefully before allowing entry to the AppStore meant that these violations weren't happening (at least not at the same alarming rates).
Already knew, especially those with fake screenshots and reviews.
DavidRegalJnr, 24 Jun 2019Obviously Android is significantly insecure compare to Ios so why not it's own application store..iOS is a joke. With Android you can use a custom ROM, firewall and pretty much anything to make it secure.
ioS on the other hand is functionally challenged.
Google Play services is the biggest Spyware

being in Google platform is already a high-risk move, so........

The source article depicts a whole other story.
"A two year study has discovered 2040 malware-laden counterfeit apps in Android app store, Google Play.
Researchers from the University of Sydney and CSIROÂ’s Data61 investigated more than a million apps available on Google Play, discovering a huge number impersonated popular games and contained malware.
Other fake apps were malware-free but requested “dangerous” data access permissions. Games Temple Run, Free Flow and Hill Climb Racing were among the most commonly counterfeited."
The problem was counterfeit apps. As such, Temple Run and Hill Climb Racing aren't malicious themselves, but they are often the target of the counterfeiters. The article (including the title) implies the apps themselves are malicious instead of their doppelgangers.
Im the product. i haw nothing to lose.
nott temple run!
