I tested windows Phone mango already, not much as I expected. I prefer Symbian Belle than windows.

I really like Nokia device, BUT
If not symbian I will go for android and it will be the last time say bye bye to Nokia.

We(Symbian fans) are ready to buy Symbian phones, but Nokia is not interested in selling one.

Just after announcing WP 7 deal, Nokia has been deliberately demoting Symbian phones to mark it as a dying platform. Let them show enough dedication like they did before and they will sell well.

Though Sales of symbian smartphone increased by 2 million compared to previous quarter (1 million is windows) but one should not forget that Q4 is a holiday season quarter where companies expect to sell atleast 50% more compared to previous quarter. Symbian failed miserably & so Nokia is planning to stop it..

Also to continue production of a product thats not selling well is nothing but fools work.. It leads to build up of heavy inventory, Investment in labour, Time,Money & many more.. So its a smart choice by Nokia... But still feel bad for symbian as its a OS im using from 7 years.

If nokia can provide free full-featured workable apps such as camscanner, callrecorder,FM recorder, technical apps, screen layout changer, autofocus camera then symbian will go forward with others os.

appears that Nokia is loosing confidance earlier than required. World consists of more people than ios or android fans.I still have confidance in Nokia & using latest Belle on 701.
They must give s60 on Asha series and double sim to keep symbians alive.
I donot undestand the logic of giving s40 on a 1Ghrtz processor

The Apollo update won't come until Q4 of this year. I think Nokia needs symbian now more than ever.

Going only windows phone platform without a plan b is suicide.

                        Goodluck Nokia!

With "tango" supporting lesser h/w, this news does make sense. So we can anticipate less pricy wp devices now flooding the market. Whether they will sell big or not, thats a different story. But thus far two models that nokia has released, none have done too badly. The name "nokia" is synonymous with "the most reliable" in many markets eg india.

some are still fans of symbian, many others are not, but when nokia release crappy new phones like n500 and n701 with crappy gpu, and then sell them for a price that can buy u an android for lower-mid segment (nokia 701 costs almost the same as samsung galaxy R with it's dual core cpu and 1gb ram!), and still depend on a device of 2010 (n8) then they u should expect such an incline in sales even compared to the low sale of last year!

SE was wise and they switched to android in the right time, when nokia was to do so they denied and wanted to go ahead with there custom OS's even when they knew its failing. We loved you nokia but sorry if you did not wanna change. Now we love android. you walk down this road you will rise to new heights, take windows mobile and you shall fall more. GL

This is a perfect example of survival of the fittest. Symbian is not fit to compete with Android and iOS. Goodbye Symbian! Your grave is waiting for you.

relax guy, this is just a rumour. nokia won't drop symbian any sooner, believe me. at least until WP8 out.

current Symbian is still preferrable than WP7 in some aspect, such as able to run on low hardware spec, sdcard support, etc.

so until windows phone got that feature, symbian will still rulez.
