Deleting your history after Google collected it is like putting on a condom after sex. Once your data is collected by Google, it is too late. For mobile phones the best option is to switch to something like /e/ from e Foundation. It is an ungoogled Android which you can install on your phone instead of Google spying stock Android you get with the phone. It still runs android apps but Google cannot spy on you.
LOL, the "feel good" remove it from my view option. Just because you don't see it anymore, that doesn't mean Goolag doesn't see it anymore.
What user think/ask:
Delete my location history older than 18 month!
What the system did:
update deleted_flag = 1 from location_history where date < dateadd(month,-18,getdate())
CaptnKarl, 27 Jun 2019yeah, just another false statement by them where actually you can delete "YOUR OWN COPY" of th... moreNo, you can turn off *ALL* the Google nonsense. I have been using Android completely unobstrusively for years now.
Good job google. Keep it up. Its only fair after youve sold our data to advertisers you should let users delete old previous data
Google is always playing these games thinking that the average user is a dumb*** and they are correct I think. Google will have all the evidence and data doesn't matter what you do and they want you to delete your own copy of the proof, wow!
Just another pr move to give user another false sense of privacy. Just like they put "do-not-track" option on their chrome but never honor it anyway
yeah, just another false statement by them where actually you can delete "YOUR OWN COPY" of the location history and not "THEIR OWN COPY.)
Like for example its just like your phone is off and you are talking with a friend about the restaurant you're currently located and the data is on, you snap a photo the post it Instagram them the suggested location was the same that you are located even if you never did provide such info to your phone; search giant company, some applications, and devices record your data which is other think unimportant but its not so always read the permissions before installing/ using a internet platform.
NipponFan, 27 Jun 2019Will Google actually delete the data? Doubtful From your device yes, from their servers of course no
