Mo... moreWell see there is thing called cloud services where you save a back up of everything in a remote location. If you are trusting your phone only not to malfunction and lose all your data...you're doing it wrong.
sadh, 29 Jun 2019"Nokia cant keep their promise" For fck sake, they are ONLY not able to update ONE SINGLE D... moreNope. Their word is garbage now. It only takes one time to lie to me before I'm done with you. Fool me twice? Shame on me. It was Nokia's short-sightedness that put them into this position. They should have coordinated more with google to see when go was coming out. Google was working on GO years before it first came out. They should either replace the phone to the 2.1, unlock the bootloader so I can actually flash Lineage or Pie go on there,or nut up and update it. I could flash a pie rom on there right now if they would unlock the loader. Not possible? pffft. BS. I'm running pie on a Nexus 4 right now...haha not possible
Anna, 29 Jun 2019Nokia 2 was launched in 2017 with Mediatek processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB Internal Storage having ... moreWrong. The NOkia 2 had a Snapdragon processor. Nokia failed their word, that is all there is too it. The point of the 2 wasn't to be fast. I'm running Pie on a nexus 4 from 2012 and it runs good enough. Your word NOkia, your word no good. It came out the very end of 2017 and nokia promised 2 years of updates. The lied. period
Carol, 30 Jun 2019Every phone should be reseted after major updates no matter what hardware they have. Will fix ... moreThis comment should perhaps get the award for the most nonsensical comment on this forum.
Most people don't use a smartphone to upgrade their software and check out new features. They have VERY important data stored on their smartphones. If every update was to reset the phone, I am 100% sure that people on the latest version of Android would plummet.
Mahesh_Rocks, 29 Jun 2019I may not agree at all. N3 is much snappier on Pie than on Oreo. You should have factory reset... moreEvery phone should be reseted after major updates no matter what hardware they have. Will fix a lot of glitches that can occur during the update.
YH, 29 Jun 2019like I said, don't deny it because the previous comment you made clearly showed without doubt ... moreClose-minded fanboy? I've tried Nokia, Samsung, LG, Apple, Motorola, Huawei and Sony. Out of all those I've like Nokia, LG, Motorola and Sony. iPhones perform better than Nokia phones? Every single iPhone? I ain't an insecure fanboy, Nokia have done terrible things in the past, as I previously mentioned and you say I don't like fair criticism of Nokia? "Your favourite brand lies to its customers", lie is a strong word. The Nokia 2 will still be getting security updates though, so you're still getting 2 year updates. My Galaxy J7 Nxt just got the Pie update, almost 2 years after its release so it isn't a huge promise. There are no articles talking about the fact that Nokia has lied to their customers/broke their promise. 2 years of updates were not promised when the Nokia 2 was released. https://www.trustedreviews.com/news/nokia-2-release-date-price-specs-features-3319988 Where does it say the "2 year update promise?"
Weak phone. So it is perfectly normal to stick to Oreo. My Motorola phone with 2GB ram is working with Nougat. 6GB ram and 128GB storage with decent Snapdragon processor is the perfect combination.
Let me eiiiiiiiiin, 29 Jun 2019No, blame Nokia for not making their phone future proff. Who's in right mind only put 1GB for ... moreBlame people because they are poor and they want a cheap phone thie is why nokia was obliged to put a small ram to make it cheaper
sadh, 29 Jun 2019"Nokia cant keep their promise"
For fck sake, they are ONLY not able to update ONE SINGLE D... moreNo, blame Nokia for not making their phone future proff. Who's in right mind only put 1GB for full Android. Everyone knows ALL apps eat more and more ram for each updates. Isn't it just Nokia planned obsolescence policy?
Even r***i never put less than 2 GB for full Android since 4 years ago.
Anonymous, 28 Jun 2019Nokia 3 updated but is dead slow....I may not agree at all. N3 is much snappier on Pie than on Oreo. You should have factory reset before updating to Pie. I have read somewhere one mush factory reset lower config. phones before a major version update for smooth functioning. Why don't you factory reset now?
Yesterday my Nokia 1 received Android Pie update and I'm very happy about it! It has been receiving security updates for every month aswell. Good job Nokia!
Nokia 2 was launched in 2017 with Mediatek processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB Internal Storage having full Android OS Nougat. This specifications were NOT sufficient to run full OS and were identical for GO Edition. Still Nokia launched this phone in low end category with higher battery. Note that except Nokia 2, ALL their current handsets are currently running on Pie. Nokia had updated even their 2 year old low end phones with 2 major OS. How many of other OEM's had bothered to update their old phones with this specifications and price range?
I am sure, none of you who are blaming Nokia here, had used their Android phones. I am currently using Nokia 3 since last 2 years and it is running smooth as day 1. Now, Mediatek processors and 2GB RAM and 16GB Internal Storage are insufficient for running full Android OS. They should be used for Go Editions only. 4GB / 64GB should be minimum requirement for phones launched now onwards.
asiandoestech, 28 Jun 2019Didn't understand the first sentence. I'm gonna deny the fact that you think I feel better aft... morelike I said, don't deny it because the previous comment you made clearly showed without doubt that you are insecure fanboy.
You don't like to see people say negative things about Nokia and you're trying to protect the reputation of your favorite brand by saying negative things about other brands.
And even if what you say about the iPhone is true it will not change the fact that the iPhones perform better than Nokia phones.
asiandoestech, 28 Jun 2019the nokia 2 ain't part of the android one program. The Nokia 2 was launched with a promise of two years of version updates, so stop defending your beloved brand like closed minded fanboy.
Your favorite brand lies to its customers and it's a fact that can't be denied
Andy93, 28 Jun 2019So there is literally no point in buying hmd phones now then. Updates was their only real sell... moreI disagree. Ordinary people don't know/care about updates (I have confirmed this in my family and coworkers). Anyway, Nokia's major selling point this time is its brand/legacy and build quality, though I bought my Nokia 7 Plus because of its handsome design. I don't update my phones because I believe that factory Android version is more optimized and less buggy than OTA Android version. I was forced to update my phone though just to fix the issue of Nokia 7 Plus phones sending data to Chinese server.
