Diamon, 14 Jul 2019Ugly notch, exceptional if they using amoled! Stupid notchWhat a beautiful notch :)
MI A3 looks like a great mobile in the picture, what will be the price and when it will be available in india.

Price-wise Xiaomi (for example) already offers flagship SoC it's comparison would be same priced phone with Samsung only offers midrange. Right now, to be specific, the main competition on the same price segment (only as an example) would be Mi 9T Pro and the Galaxy A70. The specs alone has lots of disparity but price-wise atleast in our region, they're about the same with Samsung being the higher priced one. I don't even like the Mi 9T pro, my main uses can be done using the Mi 9T (SD730), it's top spec that is currently available (6/128GB) can be bought right now at even cheaper price.
This part of smartphone market exists and I always prefer this over any midrangers. For the price of an A50 (brand new) I can buy a flagship (maybe second hand) (S8, S8 Plus, LG V30) for the price of A70 I would prefer to buy 2nd-hand Note 8. I never use any Xiaomi or Honor smartphones in here because their pricepoints were too low that buying them brand-new is always preferred.
I don't make it sound like "good screen for the phone means you get a Quad core chip because the screen takes all the budget", in fact you can have both flagship specs for a price of a midranger. Just don't make others think that a good screen is all that there is just to justify the midranger SoC. Options were vast and is not only limited to a single brand or to brand new offerings. One should also consider that old flagship exists may that be used or not, in any case, the price has already been significantly marked-down for clearance sales.
I do tend to keep my smartphones for a very long time for Android development. I only buy new phone when the other one were completely unusable, with that I meant totally broken without any replacement parts available locally or online.

It is true that you need a strong chip in other to ensure your phone can handle many kind of tasks for a longer time but if you want to hold onto a phone for that long, you buy a flagship, you don't go to Xiaomi to get a great budget phone then complain it becomes obsolete after 2 years (Which it wont)
You people make it sound like getting a good screen for the phone means you get a Quad core chip because the screen takes all the budget. Most of the times you get capable Chip and screen in the same phone or both are bad ones.
Baykko, 12 Jul 2019I'm sorry but I beg to differ. There is no way a better chipset tops a good display, specially... moreChipset does matter, also the RAM, storage and the least that should be prioritized should be the display. For example, I would trade the AMOLED display to a phone with IPS but has better chipset anytime assuming that RAM and storage were constant. Why? Because OS and app (especially games) complexity increases over time as they update, they increase rather fast. An investment on a better chipset would set the user for longer smartphone usability over time while a better display would never be able to compensate for the lags (in the future) due to the feeble chipset that it has.

I am pretty sure there will be 6GB RAM version or even 8GB RAM versions for Mi A3 too
My MI A2 has 6gb RAM, I am quite satisfied with it (even after a nexus 6P) and I suspect that RAM is a central reason why this phone is fast enough on a day-to-day use.
I can't understand why Xiaomi would release an upgrade that has less memory than the previous model. Google already made one of the most stupid moves ever when they released the Pixel 3 with only 4gb. Didn't Xiaomi get the message?

But i still agree that this resolution should not exist anymore on phones. Especially if the phone screen is over 5.5 inch. Even on 5.5 inch that 720p is horrible idea.

No headphone jack, no micro SD, no NFC, and a smal... moreIt's a terrible deal if you need/rely on those features and still buy the phone. I'm happy with it and planning to stick with it as long as it's still supported, which should be about two years from now.
The mi A2 was a terrible deal for 250 Euro! No headphone jack, no micro SD, no NFC, and a small battery. The CC9 is a huge improvement. The CC9e though is ruined by that 720 display. Unacceptable on any device which is likely to cost 180 euros
It looks like Xiaomi will rebrand Redmi Note 7 pro as a Mi A3.
I hope this is true as RN 7pro is very good device and with stock android it's a Win-Win!
YH, 12 Jul 2019Just look at gsmarena comparison tool you'll see both Redmi Note 7 and Mi A2 has better camera... moreI'm sorry but I beg to differ. There is no way a better chipset tops a good display, specially when the difference between the chips is small and both are powerful enough to deliver in everyday usage. The screen is the main element of every smartphone, its the one thing you see all the time except when you are making a call and even then sometimes. Nowadays the screen makes over 80% of the body of a smartphone so it either looks good or the hole thing doesn't. The chip has to be powerful but without a screen that's capable of showing it all that power goes to waste.
Oh, God. Please, get rid of the depth camera. It's useless. Put a 2X zoom camera and an ultrawide angle (same as 9T or 9 SE) and be done with it.
MahdiSML, 12 Jul 2019oh god ! an HD phone ? no , sorry xiaomi .From FHD+ to HD with a notch. Such downgrade makes no sense.
