I did a lot of research about Xiaomi in 2014 before buying the Mi3, never switched brand since, currently using the Mi Mix2. Very happy with the company and all of the phones I used till now.
I got an LG G6 in May, but usually I give every brand a chance for value with the exception of Chinese phones. Huawei may be a possibility for me in the future.....but NEVER any other Chinese phone.
Used OP One > OP 3t > OP 7 Pro
I've grown fond of the OP phones and Oxygen OS .
As long as they function well, and are minimalist, I'd stick with OnePlus. I do research a lot before purchasing though.
I don't care about the brand that much. All I care about is availability of LineageOS for the chosen model.
I'd give most brands an equal chance but I will never consider an LG until they sort their issues out such as the absolute garbage updates and overpriced phones
These days I do a research before deciding on a brand.
However, when it comes to a tablet, I stick to iPad.
Regarding phones, have used Sony/ Motorola and BlackBerry till 2014. But after Lenovo taking over Motorola and Wipeout of BlackBerry OS, had switched over to Xiaomi and Nokia windows phone. With Windows os out of business, I am currently happy with Xiaomi. Though I still use old Motorola phones for experiments with custom ROM.
With Nokia again in business with Android One phones, I may think about buying a Nokia next. But my Mi A1 is doing superb even today. So may have to do a detailed research before I buy a next personal device.
I have a certain set of things I need from a phone and when I'm choosing a new device it has to perform better in those important for me areas. If it doesn't perform better, then there's no need to upgrade. Well, except for catastrophic failures, but my last one was in the era of feature phones.
Where is sony?
If only they actually Fix issues after launching....
Instead of focusing on launching new models
I do research before i buy new phone but end up with Xiaomi cause nothing cant beat it with my budget price i am looking for.
There are not so many brands that are worth the price.
You can guess their names.....

LG fan here waiting to jump ship when foldable becomes mainstream
When choosing phones I do a lot of research but don't give brands equal chances like for my first smartphone LG and Samsung were my top priority then Apple but after seeing lag issues most of my friends and family members were having with Samsung I chose LG and later bought Note 3 but stuck with LG
Now my top priority is Huawei with Samsung a close second and Apple a distant third though I might buy LG if I get a really good deal
The survey kinda forgot to factor in mobile OS's. The 70% in Apple is only because only Apple uses iOS. While Android is used by several manufacturers and you can easily switch to a new brand and still have same functions.
This poll is not really a true/good poll as Apple are the only ones using IOS. Are people staying with Apple because of brand Apple or because of IOS and it's too much trouble to change and purchase new apps? With android, you can change brand and still keep almost everything carried over.
For a realistic picture of brand loyalty, there needs to be multiple IOS brands to choose from.
It is ok to have preferences, but if your favorite brand loses it's appeal, then you should jump ship instead of buying their inferior products &/or overpriced ones just for the sake of fanboyism.
My phone has all I need.
