Kind of funny that in this day in age, this particular phone with a 4" display, 1080p, probably 2,800mAH battery, IP67, front-facing stereo speakers, headphone jack, and global bands would ACTUALLY make this thing different from other phones.
I agree with what another commenter said here, I'd love for HTC to have a series of throwback phones that return with updated specs for affordable prices. I could totally get behind that. HTC One Max re-issue with 6" with 16:9 ratio, 5,000 mAH battery, tri-cameras in the back, front-facing stereo speakers, latest SoC or even Snapdragon 712, MIL-STD-G rating, hybrid dual SIM, 2K display, 6GB RAM, 128GB ROM, Type C 3.0 minimum, and Headphone Jack with 32-bit DAC...ooof...I would cry with joy.
I think its great actually. Course it would be an improvement on the original and a 3000 battery for that size is cool. Nokia do some retero, and HTC has that capacity too.
Go for it.

What stop you from just buying last year mid/high phone that you can get new from 150-300 bucks.
And dont tell me that "because they are not in XXX country" because its 2019, there is such thing like internet shopping...
I think they should do a HTC One (M7) again replacing the black bezels with screen (not the speakers). Of course with upgraded flagship specs.

Maybe a naive thought these days of the Church of Never Ending Progress, but sometimes it feels better to stop underway, look around or even - gods forbid - back, admire the view, sit down and have a nice time. :D
(doesn't apply to phones/tech only of course!)
Android pie Rom? When s5 can, this should be able to make it too.
We still can buy up to 100 euro phones with 3.5inch screen that even have 3GB ram and 4G connection and even B20 band. Names are like K-touch and Melrose. Some of them even have OLED screens. All nice up to 120mm tall phones. They only lack on camera but have type-c and 3.5mm plugs.

I loved Wildfire series. Used the original Wildfire for a few months until my gf took it away. She couldn't stay on her Nokia E5 anymore when this beauty was available for a similar price back then haha.
Instead of releasing same sh*t over and over companies like HTC could revive their old school best sellers with updated specs but keeping the same classic design language minus the bezels.
Now for that kind of combo I would invest premium money.

He has only recently stopped using a 3310 Nokia. And before that a 51.. something Nokia. He can't believe that I have to charge my phone up daily. He'd love a touch screen display, with a decently screen, relatively small form factor, and great battery. And no, 1cm thick would not be an issue for him.
Anonymous, 13 Jul 2019$90 is the limit it should cost. It's hTC, so it'd be somewhere around 390$.
