Anonymous, 17 Jul 2019Who cares if the battery life suffers.it does, but there is not much difference with heavy gaming between my razer phone 2 and my brother's rog phone- i get an average of 4.5 hours while my brother gets 4.8 hours of screen on time with heavy gaming, and these both have 4000mAh batteries. might as well max it out to the 120Hz and enjoy ultra smooth motion.

gaaron, 16 Jul 2019well there's only one thing i can say about this phone... price is going to be fly high. and t... moreLOL so true, only a handful of nerds that actually enjoy playing crappy mobile games will buy it.
please stop complaining about 120Hz refresh rate. it is for your own good and makes the phone future proofed. there are actually a handful of mobile games that are "optimized" for 120Hz (at least with my razer phone 2) and i was able to compare some of those "optimized" games between my razer phone 2 and my brother's rog phone and the razer phone was loads buttery smoother. if anything, i would complain about the aspect ratio of this and other gaming phones not branded razer- apparently all mobile games are developed with 16:9 aspect ratio and adapting them to 18-19.5:9 aspect ratio means cropping the content on the top and bottom, giving you less view or it would look like you are squinting.

Don't even bother to buy it. No updates=dead product. First Rog is still way behind other brands and no light in tunnel. Avoid!!! Buy only if it is sub £400 second hand. ;)
I root that the ROG phone succeeds, but Asus shouldn't be focusing on things like 120 MHz refresh rate when there are no games that take advantage of such high refresh. Instead they should stick to 90Mhz and focus on the battery to ensure the phone can withstand all the gaming, they should improve the cooling of the phone so you don't have to rely on that extra accessory of the ROG 1 and add the analog controls accessory in the box. Heck, The ROG Phone 2 should be trying to be like the MOQI7 that was reviewed recently in that it is a gaming device with phone functionalities and not a phone that can be used for games.
Looks good but still could use a smaller bezels top and bottom and NO front stereo speakers don't require big bezels.

Multiple pics of the front, but yet none of the back. C'mon. Think! How hard is it to flip it over and take a quick pic of the back. lol.
Kangal, 16 Jul 2019Almost perfect !! ASUS just give me root and microSD, that's all. I already know it'll have t... moreIt will definitely have root since all ASUS phones come with open source kernel and APK for unlocking the bootloader yourself.
It would be ironic if ROG Phone 2 releases in the Philippines before Zenfone 6. I've been waiting for my Nokia 8 replacement and I thought the Zenfone 6 was it.
Why I said this and it's because we have quite a number of Republic of Gamers stores in most of the malls here.

and spread your hatred. lol
ALL I want from this phone to go with the previous model's offerings and 120Hz refresh rate is expendable memory, TRULY global bands (ASUS is not good at that...) and 5,500+ mAH battery. I get all that, I'll nab this phone.
well there's only one thing i can say about this phone... price is going to be fly high. and there going to end up selling 10 units or 15..
