AnonD-558092, 17 Jul 2019I don't. Do you base the capabilities of a camera solely on the pixel count? Because that's no... moreCamera capabilities are not solely based on pixel count but other factors as well and that's a fact but that doesn't change the fact that the 12 MP is a downgrade from the Note4's 16 MP count for example..
And per GSMA's text in this article, it is clearly written that: "Galaxy Note10 will be the last Samsung flagship to use the 12MP 1/2.55" 1.4μm flagship sensor that's been around since the Galaxy S7 (the sensor, not the variable-aperture lens on top of it) and that the Galaxy S11 will usher in a completely new camera."
You can once again see that "12 MP & the S7 along with the 8,9 & 10" have quite a lot in common and this further cements my statement that these 12 MP sensors have just been recycled for the past 3 years without any true innovation...with real innovation finally appearing on the 11th gen product which will once again bump the resolution to the already previously seen 16 MP from 5 years ago...
So to sum it all up - mobile technology evolves every 4-5 years or so with something of higher spec appearing first and later getting downgraded only to be later seen resurrected and back in business.

Going by that logic, I would assume "ice" stands for white & blue (along with lots of money and expensive stuff) while "universe" is an acronym of "galaxy" - all of which fit well into Samsung's brand portfolio.
Please tell me if I have cracked it right!

But it won't happen since drivers aren't swappable like in Windows. So the company would have to provide a new set of driver blobs for each combination and support every single one separately.

If there's no better sensor than those "same old" 12MP, then you'd want them to get a crappy one just to get 20MP? Plus all those pictures get posted on social lamedia so they get compressed to like 5MP anyway
Pixels are also stuck at 12MP but their pictures are good. I really don't see what's your point here.

Even better, it would be wonderful if we had the option to have phones tailor-made to our own need :) but sadly Samsung is going the Apple route and I'm not a fan of this despite being a Samsung fan albeit not for all of their products.

Despite that, it's still the same old 12 MP and that's that.. do you now understand what I'm getting at?

Earlier there was news that they will merge S and Note series and make i... moreS and Note are literally same since Note 5 or you can say each year S series gets Spen in H2 so its a good move to merge them but hope its called Note or something new and I am pretty sure Spen can fit in S10 and there is no way Samsung will release only one series a year if S or Note series gets axed they will release a new one in its place
Another year of Samsung phone lagging behind Huawei, Apple and Google. I owned a S10 5G for a month until I returned it to Samsung due to defect and couldn't believe how bad the image looked comparing with XS Max

Anonymous, 17 Jul 2019N8 photos were good for it's time but not that amazing. And the 808 destroys it and everythingI've owned both phones and I can tell you, the noise, detail level & zooming are the only areas where 808 leapt ahead.
In other matters, it was either equal or inferior to N8. (still image, daytime only) Colours were so pleasant and nice. Dynamic range was unbelievably wide.
If you don't believe me, Google "Nokia N8 sample image butterfly"...
The image that comes is really taken by N8, not a DSLR, believe it. And may I not even mention the 1.55um Pixel series by Google... famous for its camera itself.
Anyhow, this comment thread is about Note 10.. Let's leave it there... :D
Anonymous, 17 Jul 2019Don’t make me laugh Samsung only introduced the 16:9 aspect ratio and unfortunately LG did it ... moreYou do realize Samsung released the first ever 12mp sensor on a phone many years ago right?
As well as almost all resolution increases building up to that.
Including the first camera on a phone.
Also first phone to record HD video. And first phone to play HD video.
Also phase detection autofocus.
