Research, reviewed, dig the most needs that i use on a smartphone, dont care which brand.
An ex Sony user, now switch to Huawei, still fan of both.
Let see how the future holds up, change flagship every 2 years.
EskeRahn, 21 Jul 2019Hmm "that a large chunk of iPhone owners stick with Apple because of iOS." To me it was co... moreIos is bad? Another android fanboy that has used Xiaomi cheap ass phones all his life and can barely afford even a Samsung wants us to believe he once sold his soul to buy an IPhone and found ios so bad bad he ran back to miui..Am no fanboy but c'mon!
Brand loyalty is dead.
Samsung is shill up for OLED with its aggressive PWM.
Huawei & co moved OIS from flagship phones to expensive Pro version.
Xiaomi: Mi 8 has mindblowing 100Hz PWM, Mi 9 is fake flagship with marketing bs instead of OIS, no POCO 2, Mi A3 with HD+ and not suitable for media consumption.
> Some brought up an interesting point about the study quoted in the post – that a large chunk of iPhone owners stick with Apple because of iOS.
I guess in mobile universe user can't be hardcore locked into iOS ecosystem. But one still should separate brand loyalty and OS store addiction.

To me it was co... moreGet over it was almost 5 years since.
Each OS gets better în time.
If I have the money, I'll always be sticking with Apple, Sony and Google. But as everyone knows, they don't have the best phones. Example, if I had to choose between an Iphone XS, and Xperia XZ3, Google Pixel 3 and an P30 Pro, I would choose the P30 Pro anyday. It's got the arguably best and most versatile camera til date, 8GB RAM, fast charging, and a 4200mAh battery. Those are already plenty of things to consider. I don't want my battery to die on me after a day.
I cannot be a brand loyal because brands tend to go care more of profit than the users. For example I've switched from Samsung (Galaxy S7) to OnePlus 5. I was very pleased by the phone, nice, fast, no stupid edge or notch trend, metal back... then they went with a notch, edge display and glass black (even without wireless charging), removed the audio jack (after mocking others manufactures and taking a public poll where users shows cleary the interest in the audio jack). So OnePlus lost my sympathy. Totally.
So for me is do a research from ALL BRANDS before buying a new phone.
My favourite company is Nokia and i will continue buying their phones.
They are still capable even just 2.5 years that they have shown their hardwork on Nokia 9 pureview which is still the best to capture more details then any other phones in daylight.
I am really waiting for their continued innovations with technology.
They have better build quality, better audio capture through microphones using Nokia Ozo Audio. Now iam really happy that PureView is back.

To me it was completely the opposite: I switched AWAY from aPple exactly BECAUSE of the horrible Ios. Their hardware (Ip6- at the time) was quite OK, but the software intolerably bad.
More likely the REAL thing is that people stick for the "Emperors new clothes"-reason. It is hard to admit that you have let yourself get tricked, it is much easier to stay within the sect.
