samsung make this foldable as well.. would be nice for a book to be foldable than phone
I agree that anything not written for ARM will run poorly. I purchased a Book 2 and had to return it for crashing 24 times in 7 days. Using this is very poor for a real user. I was using as a second driver and it just not up to the test. If you need LTE I moved to surface 5 or 2017 lte which has been an excellent product. I would love to see more LTE units as it uses less data than the hotspot way. IMHO if you do much remote work get the LTE PC with Win 10 Pro.

I'm fascinated with the vision to make laptop computers have more battery juice in it along with the power of x86 processor. I think the market have to support ARM-based computers in order to make that happen--but of course, that is the task of the manufacturers.
Here's hoping that 5 to 10 years range is true though, haha.

Why pick this and get limited arm programs? Plus not enough companies are jumping into this arm + windows build.. even Apple is not touching it yet. So it will still take at least 5 to 10 years for this to happen.. if it ever happens.
Good decision. u can use qualcomm's snapdragon chippset or intel chipset. ( please do not use samsung's exynos chipset). thankyou.
The age of always-connected laptop is dawning, here's hoping that many applications would be supported by ARM-based processors...
Still waiting for x86-ARM hybrid like Lisa Hsu envisioned...
Anonymous, 25 Jul 2019Should run on chrome os.Chrome OS is great for schools, simply because you can't find any games or fun software.
This is why they want to install Windows on the cheapest hardware available.
Fulljack, 25 Jul 2019it's only 4-5% cpu improvement, it's not much, but it's gpu got 15% boost, which is quite massive. people who want arm windows laptops/tablets use it as always-connected laptops I doubt they will use it as a work pc or gaming devices. they meant to use it for general-purpose and travel use. diff between 845 and 855 is so small 855 can open apps milliseconds faster that's it. in terms of performance 855 and 855 plus is same. yes GPU is faster but arm-powered windows pcs is not for gaming.
855plus is an overclocked version of 855 that's it nothing more nothing less. Asus released a rog phone overclocked 845.

six_tymes, 25 Jul 2019S with the 855+? ill buy one then. do you really think diff between sd855 and sd855+ is significant enough to not to buy a device with sd855? the way I see it is that there's no diff at all.
