But that's not how people use cameras nowadays as evidenced by the almost non-existence presence of those cheap compact cameras in the market. They have been mostly replaced by smartphones and premium compact cameras that generally cost $1000 or above.
Here's what I think of cameras from each phone brand:
-If you want a good auto camera with good versatility, you get iPhone or Huawei.
-If you prefer to shoot RAW with the best image quality and edit it in Lightroom, you get iPhone or Pixel.
-If you're low light shooter, you get Pixel or Huawei.
-If you only care about the manual video recording capability and don't really mind if your phone spits out poor quality still images occasionally, you get LG or Xperia.
-If you don't basically care about cameras at all and want more on other stuffs, you get Galaxy.

I've seen numerous low light samples from this compact and I have to say some of them did look downright terrible.. However, current smartphones cannot just compete with premium compact when it comes to zooming capabilities, RAW image quality and manual control. The telephoto lens on P30 Pro is still usable compared to all the other smartphones, but comes nowhere close to what RX100 series can achieve with its true optical zoom, regardless the lighting conditions. Sometimes you cannot beat physics after all.
Anonymous, 26 Jul 2019How about you get outta here? Not his fault if you're Anti-Japanese.Telling a person who's pretending to be a Japanese nationalist to troll a tech community to get lost is not the same as being anti-Japanese. If he loves Japanese companies then he can do so without showing unnecessary hate to companies from other countries, especially when the article doesn't say anything about those companies at all. When I praise certain companies I don't bring up others and straight up insult them for no reason.
When can we expect mobile cameras use 1" sensor??
If we do expect it soon, I think Huawei will be the first one to do so, no doubt!!!

For a smartphone camera, yes both P30 and Mate 20 are great. This RX100 are next level bro. Seems like u doesnt even have a clue.

Learn about it. There are a lot of things that smartphone camera cant do compare to it. These are from Professional Photographers points.

Loads of experts around here :)))))))))))

If you edit the overprocessed jpeg from a huawei/Samsung, you are just doing it wrong.
And I own a Sony xperia, before saying I'm a huawei fanboy, more, I own a sony after having owned a huawei for 2 years.
Anyway, I used the 2nd version of the camera for a trip, and it's really good!
AnonD-706668, 26 Jul 2019Yes p30 pro has 2.0 microns pixel size with image stacking noise reduction techniques...so it ... moreRX100 pure 2.4 micron pixel size, without pixel binning. Of course the RX has the image stack, long exposure & more advance, period.
This is getting ridiculous.
This is still the best point and shoot camera to own. No camera phone is even close to this. Not. One. If you want your photos to still look good 10 years later, this is something to get.

lol kids if you want to compare your p30 pro or any smartphone look for 100-200$ camera (which will still be better with zoom and night portraits because of proper flash)
This is so much better than smartphone camera that probably p310 double pro max in 2040 will produce worse pictures
If you want good auto camera on your phone buy pixel or iphone. If you prefer to shoot on manual and edit in snapseed buy xperia. Overprocessed galaxy and huawei are only good when compressed down to 0.5mpx for insta/fb.
AnonD-706668, 26 Jul 2019Have you are a owner of Huawei P30 Pro ? I think not...for that reason you said such words I don't need to own a p30pro. I just need to see the test pictures posted on various review pages to come to this definite conclusion.
Just follow my argumentation strand posted below and you'll come to the same logical conclusion.
btw... both sensors are sony developments. The p30pro 1/2" type sensor the sensor of the RX100 VII a 1" type sensor. That alone gives it a huge plus (4x) to gather more light. Together with the much better optics the p30pro is no match. The more challenging the situation the bigger the difference in the pictures.
If you zoom with the RX100 VII you have 20MP, if you zoom with the p30pro you only got 8MP
etc…
People comparing this little beauty with smartphone cameras lmao.

Personally, they should have kept the faster aperture of the Mark V (f/1.8) over having higher zoom.
