LG does not provoding updates in software area.....no doubt cameras and Audio is gr8 of LG moviles....but did not competing with samsung and apple flagships.....e.g LG V40 get 94 marks and LGG8 get 98 marks for camera from DXoMark webaote(the camera expert webaite) and price of the LG products is vwry high....and LG has terrible sowtare update providing.even I have LG G6 but no android pie till now and no portrait mode for camera( though even 7k Mobile has both ).so I want ro say LG do fast ur service for software update.
the reason for the poor results are the competitors from China and their “aggressive pricing”.
Oh, really? LG, your phones are overpriced crap that never getting proper support. What did you expected?
Anonymous, 30 Jul 2019Their first mistake was pricing their phones so high like they are some premium brand. They we... moreThere is no premium brand
Their first mistake was pricing their phones so high like they are some premium brand. They were never a premium brand
Not surprising as they make garbage phones.
lg has good ideas and is one of few makers that are innovating bringing new stuff taking risk but due to the *** MEDIOCRE ** quality assurance the y are failing g4 with boot loop, g5 and v20 with screen issues , g6 with midrange sensors if there is some one to blame is lg itself,... I wonder if they don't have to ask some one for display and they manufacture their own stuff why are failing ,,,, well they want to take more offering less and that's the matter ... if they could only do what other companies like xiaomi is doing putting more for less .. well they could slowly start getting more as well ...
Anonymous, 30 Jul 2019Owner of an LG G7 fit. Premium build, excellent screen, great CPU, very good cameras, dope DAC... moreAt least sony are good with updates.
LG on the other hand 🤷🏻♂️
Are they sure it isnt because of a plateau in technology? People wont keep buying the newest tech if they are just adding a slightly better processor or another camera. We are talking about phones here, how many features does one need to browse social media?
Another quarter, another disappointing result for the mobile business at LG Electronics. The company posted its financial report for the past three months and the Mobile Communications Company said sales were down 21.3%, compared with the same period last year. At least they went up 6.8% on a quarterly basis, but the reason for the poor results are the competitors from China and their “aggressive pricing”.
Agressive pricing this is funny. Sony, LG, Samsung, Apple they all do same thing rob they customers while they can and when market is overfed they reduce prices by 10-30% and start advertising again.
People arent stupid they grew up like Xiaomi did and from a small unknown comlpany with just few phones in china and a rather poor quality in 10 years they went to a one of the largest phone manufacturers and wendors and their quality increased a lot.
Apple is only one company in existence where their phones even 2 years old sells for almost same price. All and only because people are enough stupid that they still believe they buying quality products.
But as their sales going down even their pricing and flat prices over time of older devices will go down with competition.
Soon we will see half year old devices sold for half price othervise they will end with financial problems no matter how much money they have at the moment.
No Johny Ive or John Sculley would save them.
Owner of an LG G7 fit. Premium build, excellent screen, great CPU, very good cameras, dope DAC. Sony and LG make the best most underrated phones.
This is what happens when for so long LG only had issues on their phones starting with the LG G2, Nexus 5, nexus 5X, LG G4 etc... and continued without resolving the infamous bootloop issue it was causing hardware wise on all these phones for all these years.
People just stopped buying LG phones altogether and when finally LG woke up to remedy this issue on newer phones it was too late.
There were phones with much better quality for a lower price, ie: Oneplus, xiaomi, etc...
LG continues to price their phones higher than even oneplus and huawei instead of lowering them and only have marginal profit. LG wants instead a 35% profit per phone.
If it continues LG will have the same fate boat HTC is in.
Not bothering of the pricing, thinking the price was fair and justified and look where HTC is at now.
The same thing will happen to its TV division and so forth.
Even tho i love LG, it's a shame knowing that people that work in there are unoriginal, disorganized and simply don't care what consumers wants.
Announce a phone with an extreme price, release that phone 2-3 months later (sometimes 6 months later, when it's already old). What do you expect LG? If LG wants to win, they have no other way than entering the lower to mid-range market with competitive pricing. Even Samsung had to introduce the A and M series just to maintain a place in that range. People now understand the value for money, they care about what they are getting for the money. Brand value or Brand trust is not particularly mainstream now. Xiaomi, Huawei or even Samsung now have exciting offering for what people want to spend. And LG/Sony releases a 300-400$ phone which cannot even compete with a 150-200$ phone from the Chinese manufacturer. Funny. The blame is not 'aggressive pricing', its LG's 'overpricing'.
I've been saying it for a while, LG's pricing deparment is to blame. I don't want to sound like "evil LG they should gib phones for free" type of guy, but hot damn, whenever I hear about LG I remember the LG G7 One pricing fiasco... For those who don't remember, the thing was that last year LG decided to released the G7 One, which is essentially a watered down version of G7 Thinq, for a price HIGHER than the full version G7 ThinQ. Basically been same story with all the phones they released recently... First step: stupidly overprice the phone, second step: nobody buys it, so do nothing until people buy new generation phones, then drastically cut the price so you get barely any profit on the device.
Whole time I thought I was just missing something, I thought that in LG there're people who know better than average customers, but these numbers show they apparently have no idea what they're doing. Keeping fingers crossed they at least started to 'analyze the situation' and 2020 will be the year they catch up with competitors in pricing, because LG makes some damn great phones.
LG... they often have issues and their phones are rather really expensive for what they offer. And I cannot see them competing with the likes of Samsung and Huawei anytime soon, they are basically in the same place as Sony is at the moment. Sony, LG, same as OnePlus and some other brands are more or less nowhere to be found in mainstream stores in my country, and those stores and operators (carriers) sell most devices tho.
Your choices are: Samsung, Huawei, Apple, Xiaomi...
And your average consumer doesn't do much research, they will just see few commercials, and make their buy based on what they liked. Eventually they will ask their friend for advice, but that is pretty much it.
Just keep pumping out phones without supporting them, LG. I'm sure that will turn things around eventually... //sarc.
It's not a decline of sales ! It is only curved displays...
And foldable sales ...
LG mobile deserves this for releasing so many variants of the same model and failing to provide a single software update for many of the variants. LG mobile is synonymous with non-existent software updates and horrible customer after sales service.
It's because they keep releasing terrible or at best average phones with high disproportionately high price tags.
They're W series that was supposed to compete with the likes of Redmi, Honor and RealMe were not competitive at all
In the words of John Travolta; "They better shape up"
ilikechoking, 30 Jul 2019If you can't beat them, why don't you join them instead? I think its all about company's pride. By join them with aggressive price sure LG would have gain more market share compared Chinese brand, afterall its LG, a well known brand=quality stuff. But that would made LG like a chinese brand (low class), its a well known knowledge chinese products are trash low quality despite they really make a good quality products.
Its hard to change a people mindset, at my school we some kind of caste decided by their phone. Chinese brand = low class ppl (no matter the type, even you use a high end model guys around will brand u as low class XD ) Korea brand = mid to high class, American brand = Absolute highness. Thought this is just a joke but its a reflection of how people's mind seeing a brand.
