It is actually a fantastic idea. Proper tablet "real estate" whenever needed, from a proper phone size.

SpiritWolf, 11 Aug 2019Facepalm indeed. Open your eyes as i said. One fold and secondary screen on hinges. So your argument is "semantics".
Concept shows the thing fold into three, which needs two points of angles.

The argument stands.

Surely, since the folding Startac phone was so popular because of its size and movement, its a no-brainer to now make a Startac/Startrek type phone with a folding screen, which is as usable as a normal size slab phone with a 5" or 6" screen.

Sometimes you really wonder what planet these designers are living on.

Ah, glad to see another company jumping on a bandwagon.
Foldable smartphones might be the future but that kind of a future isn't yet. In an era where phones are getting bigger and bigger, a logical solution would be making a foldable phone that is half the size folded. Really the stupidest smartphone fad so far.

SpiritWolf, 10 Aug 2019'...the more folds, the more areas of weakness.' Just one fold, open your eyes. And seconda... moreFacepalm.

You didn't even read the article, or see the pictures. There are two folds. It is in the form of a "Z" (two points) and not as a "V" (single point). This "looks cool" but would be a practice in anxiety to use daily.

I would prefer to stick to a Slab design for now. I wouldn't want to move towards folding devices, at least not until they're tough enough for tradesman to consider. What I would upgrade to, is wearing two smartwatches, where they both shine 3D-Holograms into my palm and I could manipulate it via fingers/touch.

Two folding twice the risk of damage to the screen. No way I will buy this kind of phone.

More interesting than the Samsung or Huawei foldables. Still the Motorola Razr idea is the best foldable idea to me. Making a big phone smaller by folding it, rather than making a big phone even bigger.
