In my observation, a lot of Filipinos use the following brands (in no particular order) --
Oppo, Vivo, Samsung, Nokia, iPhone, Huawei and Xiaomi with some few using Sony, LG and locally-rebadged Cherry and MyPhone.
Most people obtain phones through loans. I find it funny because people ogle over their phones but don't necessarily know how to use them. Some others play games or do social media.

Shahnawaz, 16 Aug 2019Whare is Huawei?? Is Xiaomi,Oppo,Vivo,Realme is top on Huawei in thos Country? In Philippines, the brand that's popular are iPhones, Samsung ,oppo and cherry Mobile.

iPhones sold few every year in my country since they stick to old iPhones not because they cant afford the upgraded one, its because the phone is still excellent even after few years. And some android user who waited for the phones price to decline. iPhones are popular to those rich-wannabe and social climber, and mostly to people who wants to use the device for longer period of time and to those people who can afford it.

Samsung is the most popular android phone in the country 2nd is cherry Mobile(local brand).

People bought oppo and vivo not because of the specs but because of the camera, people who wants to be looking good in social media, are usually uses this 2 devices. Teenager are usually drown in social media frenzy so that's why vivo and oppo are popular in the Philippines .

Huawei is good though I haven't use one, but I have seen some, My co-worker loaned some money and bought a 46,ooo pesos Huawei phone , but in the end sold it only for 20,ooo pesos after 3 months and I says WTF?

sadh, 16 Aug 2019BBK strategy here in Indonesia is giving reward to seller who can sell oppo / vivo, around USD... moreThey used the same strategy in China and focused on lower tier cities (smaller cities) where consumers mostly bought in stores. Their phones were way overpriced and so they could spend more on marketing and give higher commissions to sales staff. Slowly, with more competition and slower growth they are starting to become more competitive pricewise

Just launghed earlier this year, why Realme stand among Top Five with 1.6million device sold.Actually,Huawei or Honor should stay at least number one or two.Your figure are not correct.

BBK strategy here in Indonesia is giving reward to seller who can sell oppo / vivo, around USD35 PER ITEM. That's why, confused consumer that is not researching phone to get before, is a nice target for both BBK and the seller. But tbh, Oppo's current products are great tho.

In Malaysia, oppo and vivo give a price bonus (a certain percent of the selling price of the phone) to the staff of the phone shop when he sells one oppo / vivo phone.

That is the technique for them to win the market here.

No Huawei + Honor. Even when Realme is at 1.6M. Surprising.

Agressive marketing and back by big leders willing to give an approval loan if you choose oppo or vivo, so its a no brainer that it tops in the philippines.

Why would we want to be loyal to any brand? We know the value of our money. Where its need to be spend. SEA market smartphone will sell quite well if the price is below 400$.
