Marco M, 22 Aug 2019Redmi K20 Pro / Mi 9T Pro is the new Poco essentially.Dang it. *sigh* hopefully the Redmi K30/K30 Pro will have a MicroSD card slot. :'(
IpsDisplay, 21 Aug 2019Lol that's a niche need
The masses don't care about this
Bootloader, root, gcam port etc... moreWelp this isn't phone that really focused at game tho, it's a general, all rounder budget friendly phone.
The only thing that i like about Mediatek SoC is their Clear Motion technology, it's (the only) 60fps video interpolator that available on Android. I wonder when Qualcomm will have the same tech on their SoC.
Anonymous, 21 Aug 2019Ofc worse you should compare it to kirin 810Well it looks like (through preliminary benchmarks at least ) that the G90T scores a bit higher on Antutu than the Kirin 980 so it might be a good processor that closes that gap between flagship Kirin and Snapdragon:
Mediatek benchmarks: https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/28/mediatek-helio-g90t-vs-qualcomm-snapdragon-730g-gaming-chipsets-compared/
SD 855, 845, and Kirin 980 scores: https://www.xda-developers.com/qualcomm-snapdragon-855-snapdragon-845-kirin-980-cpu-gpu-ai-benchmarks/
Anonymous, 22 Aug 2019Gamers that go to that extend will look for flagship CPU like SD855 instead of mid-rangeyeah. i know, but in my country most of them have limited budget, not all people can have $600 flagship. that's why its called mid range budget.
Hope Note 8 series will come with bigger than 6,39" standard screen size Note series
Anonymous, 24 Aug 20194500mAh, Lu Weibing said it... They make tests to see how much G90T in 12nm consumes compare ... moreWell with competitive price like redmi note 7 this phone should be fantastic.
CptPower, 24 Aug 2019Looks like Note 8 will be the gaminjg phone with gaming CPU and i hope it will back 5000 mAh o... more4500mAh, Lu Weibing said it...
They make tests to see how much G90T in 12nm consumes compare to 7nm (they didn't say which one, but it's 855...it's the only 7nm soc they use), the answer was 10%...(of course 855 is more powerfull)
As Mi9T Pro/Redmi K20 Pro uses a 4000mAh, Xiaomi put a 4500mAh (+12.5%) battery on Redmi Note 8
Looks like Note 8 will be the gaminjg phone with gaming CPU and i hope it will back 5000 mAh or better.

Marco M, 22 Aug 2019Redmi K20 Pro / Mi 9T Pro is the new Poco essentially.Well, Xiaomi is really dragging their feet in rebranding the K20 Pro as the Pocophone F2 (or Poco F2 Plus/Pro since the K20 could be rebranded as Pocophone F2), since the F1 was released in August, which was a year ago. What I'm theorizing is the Poco F2 is still in the works and will be released (eventually?) this year, or Xiaomi will announce the rebranding in the next month. It's just weird that the K20/K20 Pro was already released in India, which was one of the target markets for the Poco F1 last year. Still, I'm disappointed that the K20/K20 Pro doesn't have a Micro-SD slot, so I'll still have to choose whether to get the Poco F1 or the K20 Pro depending on my budget. I'm still crossing my fingers that Xiaomi plans to release a new phone hopefully with a Hybrid Sim Slot which will accept a MicroSD, higher battery and glass protection as the new Poco F2.
indlvarn, 22 Aug 2019Thanks, so it will be blame of Xiaomi if this phone won't be updated. If this one is available in Europe, you will get at least 2 years of security update because of Play Protect certification...
As they are available in Europe, Redmi 6 and 6A received a major update from Android 8.1 to 9.0...
Sources are available on GitHub...but most people will continue to say : "Mediatek, no update, no sources" even after they read my post.
I don't know why people continue to troll and to support a guilty company like Qualcomm
Anonymous, 22 Aug 2019it's a 12nm processor. It will be hot and eat up a lot of battery.12nm TSMC...
Redmi Note 7 use 14nm from Samsung, less efficient than 16nm from TSMC
IpsDisplay, 22 Aug 2019Your contradicting yourself
If you claim SOME mediatek phones gets major is update
Fact... moreI haven't contradicted myself. claiming all MTK phones never receive updates would be lying.
Your claim makes it xiaomi's fault for not giving updates, but there are plenty of phones that came with both chips and their owners would love to tell you otherwise.
Also, it's not entirely the phone manufacturer's fault. I've read somewhere that for a phone to get upgrades, the manufacturer has to pay extra to get source codes unlocked. So it's kind of MTK's fault
Anonymous, 22 Aug 2019it's a 12nm processor. It will be hot and eat up a lot of battery.12nm from TSMC is on par with 10nm from Samsung so no... V-V
