I wanted to buy the original Samsung Beam last year but could not get hold of one..It was a Galaxy S but it had the LED flash i wanted over Galaxy S for use as torch and video light and it had laser projector as well..I do think 15 Lumens is low and expect it will only work in pitch black rooms..
I am going to buy one tho especially now its got better spec.
Hi just wondering how much it costs and is it available in Ireland
oujisan, 26 Feb 2012WOW. That is inovation I kinda hope the Note 2 or the S3 will have this it will make a great tool.Yes 15lum is small for a pico, but it's about time, I expect soon all phones/tablets will have one.
Philips has an 80lum pico projector which is double the lums in six months, so if more phones incorperate this tech expect higher and higher lums. LED and Laser picos will become the norm, the added price should be less than 100€.
Also comparing pico lums to full projector lums is incorrect, better to compare delivered lums/mm sq
wow! what a brilliant idea. who would've thought? may take a few generations to mature but something worth developing. very exciting. way to go samsung!
Fujitsu already came up with this concept a couple years ago with their F-04B. Personally, I don't find it all that special.. Especially considering it only has a 15 lumen lamp! Its output may be able to cover 50", but in no way will you see 720p results.
In any case though, I have full confidence that Samsung will make this product better in the near future..
Cesar, 26 Feb 2012Apple must be running to patent this first and then sue Samsung. LOL!samsung is always d best apple or orange or even berrys cant do lolzzzz

Wow Marvellous Fantastic Awesome Mindblowing. Good to hear.
Thats a awesome "gadget".You who are always playing haters and wimping about something,no one compares this projector with anything this is just a new technology, which was immediately picked up sympathy
for me,"cause it comes in a small "package".Bravo for SAMSUNG!
? only still images, video projection would have been awesome..... Cool tho
Wow!! Now that's awesome!! Would have been much better if it came with ICS!!
AnonD-8850, 26 Feb 2012Why bother at only 15 lumens when projectors today have for the lowest 2000 lumens and the hig... moreSeriously, do you realy want to compare a pocket projector with a 300w lamp projector?????
OK, we can make a projector phone with 2000 lumens, but you'll need a jumbo-sized pocket/good sized backpack to put a real sized projector and the computer no-break to keep it on for some minutes of projection.
So, let's be realistic? It's made for showing some pictures or movies to your friends large, on a dark room, not a professional cinema.
It's a nice touch, but you'll have to sit in complete darkness and have the phone very close to the screen in order to get a viewable picture, which won't be very good at all. 15 lumens isn't much at all.
Feature of future mobiles they should ad it first in tablets
AnonD-38207, 26 Feb 2012what is your problem?
are you guys haters?
its a phone android 2.3
1 ghz speed
6gb ram or ... moreOK, it's not that inovative, some chinese companies had projector phones before, Samsung had a feature phone with projector, but it wasn't the first one with a projector.
Still a great idea, probably it uses some newest high end LEDs on it.
john doe, 26 Feb 2012nice idea, but is it practical? Seriously can the battery survive tht projector thingI don't know for how long it will survive using the projector, but they sure added a big battery on this phone, so the battery life without using the projector may be awesome (not RAZR MAXX... But great at least).
nice idea, but is it practical? Seriously can the battery survive tht projector thing
cool! But i'm still getting the sgs3. Might get both though!
hope this is better than the earlier i8520 samsung beam which was a joke. laggy phone, and projector conks out early with white spots.
I just can't wait to see the video Review of this mobile phone
